Has gone off the boil a BIT recently but then he did start off by setting the bar massively high for himself. Maybe needs a game or two coming off the bench.
He was one of our better players this evening. It didn't help when the ref allowed him to be kicked & battered without a single free kick for it.

Erm if you've watched the last few games he's given the ball away far more then he's passed it to one of our own
personally thought he was playing too centrally as was Murphy. At times we really lacked width which is surprising when there are two out and out wingers on the pitch. AK was mustard first few games and has dipped a recently. Needs to pass it more.
Two points.
1) I totally accept he didn't play very well last night. He's a flair player and they do sometimes have off days, he was doubled up on, the pitch was slippery and very slick making his brand of football difficult, and he was fed the ball in awful positions, meaning that he wasn't in situations to really make a telling attacking influence that often.
BUT...
2) Even with his poorer attacking performance (and all of our attackers and midfield were poor going forward last night), he's yet to put in a performance where he hasn't worked tirelessly defensively to help and protect Bruno. The notion that he has "noheart" is insulting to the guy who has clearly tried his hardest from day one for us, and it reflects quite badly on the OPs lack of football understanding that he can't see that. Both Murphy and Knockaert have probably the toughest roles in our side as they're required to do so much tactically - it really is no surprise when either has the odd off day offensively.
As a caveat, one of my main gripes with Hughton is his lack of desire to let either, or both, of Murphy or Knockaert off the leash a little by playing them right up against opposition full backs. The problems they could cause by staying high and wide could make such a difference to us offensively, if only Hughton was adventurous enough to take such a risk.
Well I'll have you know that I've watched football for over 45 years and played for 20 and know F**K ALL about football , all this tactical talk about players being too deep or wide has me well baffledFair enough mate - my tongue in cheek thread was soon after the game andfuelled.
Just to let you know I have been watching the Albion for over forty five years man and boyand played for twenty two years so I know a little bit about football

Problem first half was Wednesday weren't that interested in attacking and just lumped the ball up to the big lad up front, who incidentally should have been sent off - would like to see the refs report for the booking!
They knew they could stifle our fast attacking players by not giving us space to run into, to not let us counter attack and catch them on the break.
By the second half we had run out of ideas and Wednesday started to attack more by which time we had lost the shape to expose the possible space that was generated, instead opting to lump the ball up front to our own big man BZ.
Game plan would have been complete if they had scored from one of there half chances second half, but all round it was an expert demonstration of tactics to negate our threats.
Someone said on here a couple of days ago that we don't have a Plan B - last night that was evident, or at best a flawed Plan B.
If Plan B was perfect wouldn't it be Plan A?
