MPs have agents who work in the constituency office. They will take questions and concerns to the MP or his workers. That’s why MPs claim expenses to pay for the office, and worker’s salaries.

When we went to East Hull to present the Valentine’s card, JP’s agent met us.

People in Clacton, haven’t been able to make an appointment let alone speak to anyone.
Well they can vote him out at the next election

A leader of a political party isn't really going to be too busy in their constituency
Do you think Blair was a busy local MP listening to peoples concerns about noisy neighbours etc...

If the people of Clacton aren't happy they can vote him out
Blair was leader of a governing party with 100s of MPs, and was Prime Minister too.

Farage is leader of a party with 5 MPs.

You're attempt to draw a comparison betwern them is ridiculous.

D- must try much harder.

Of course you don't.

Let's just forget FPTP and democracy next time and have an X Factor style "Bestest Speech" competition on GBeebies with the winner of the public vote going straight to Number 10 for the next 20 years. Hosted by Simon Cowell, Donald Trump and (remotely in case he gets arrested), the man himself, Vladimir Putin.

"Unfortunately Ed Davey has left the Bestest Speech house this week with the least votes. Although his speech was factually correct and pointed out a number of Nigel's obvious failings it's hard to think the public understood it when it was delivered from a go kart being free wheeled down Snowdon. Just us afterwards for exclusive footage of Nigel teaching Donny how to drink a pint properly and receiving some critique on the contents of his final speech from Tommy Robinson."
Again, I don't see your point.

I never mentioned being elected, I simply said that he's the best orator where the other leaders sound forced and artificial.

People vote polices, not voices.

Otherwise Brian Blessed would have been PM.

Being a good Barnsley bloke, he’s Labour through and through.

A petition for Brian Blessed to be PM was raised on Change.org which achieved 5 signatures

People vote polices, not voices.
Generalisation and objectively not the case with a lot of voters.

People voted for Brexit despite not having first clue what it meant, other than sticking two fingers up to the Establishment.

People voted for Boris because they thought he had charisma and he said “get Brexit done” (not a policy) a lot.

People are now voting for Fromage because he “says it like it is” and again to protest.

The obvious point being made to you is that the best or strongest oration is no guarantee of good government.

Before he was Prime Minister he was leader of the opposition

I would say Nigel has a bigger job on his hands as he is literally starting a party, winning 10 councils etc etc…

Anyway, I think it’s important that Leaders don’t get caught up in the minutiae of every day constituents

Much better to be firming up relations with the leader of the free world

I agree on the importance of firming up relations with Zelenskyy

Have you noticed though how tetchy he gets when challenged, like in that earlier linked video.

Also, for a "great" orator - allegedly - those sharing the podium with him didn't look over enthused!

This - Farage very quickly gets flustered and defensive when doggedly challenged to back up / explain his rehearsed soundbites. Sadly, most of the media lets him get away with it.

Cummings has been a busy man

"Nigel Farage could "definitely" become prime minister at the next general election, Dominic Cummings has said.

Mr Cummings revealed he has held meetings with Mr Farage and advised him on how to go from "one man and an iPhone" to entering Downing Street."

Well to be fair, he has experience of getting narcissistic grifters who lie constantly into Downing Street, but Shirley having been burnt once, nobody would be that stupid again, would they ???

Farage's biggest method of saving money doesn't add up:

"Farage’s biggest savings by far would come from abolishing all policies aimed at reaching net zero emissions by 2050, which he said the Institute for Government had claimed cost around £45bn a year.

However, the IfG report on which those figures were based, written in 2021, stated specifically that “most of the investment is unlikely to come from the government” and that it would be “largely funded and delivered by the private sector and individuals”.

And here are the proposed increases

Looks like he will bankrupt the country...

I have a hate of anything that gives Farage seats (and Galloway). That's all.

Yes. I am very happy that Farage and chums won't be getting 15% (around 70) seats. Very happy.

If you want the greens to have more seats then they need to become more popular so they get the biggest number of votes in more seats.

Some people imagine that PR and coalitions would create a more centrist government, Like in Germany. No. It would end up more like Israel.

And indeed the anti-FPTP lobby have been crowing about stable governments in Europe. Alas, we are looking at a lurch to extremism in Europe, facilitated by PR.

I would rather have a Tory government than a Tory-Reform-BNP coalition, or indeed a Labout-Green-CPGB-SWP coalition. They way to keep extremists at bay is to keep them out of parliament.

So if it is unfair that Farage does not get dozens of seats, then boo f***ing hoo. I am delighted. Thrilled in fact. Sometimes 'fairness' is nothing more than stupidity. I am quite angry, in fact, that selfish people who can't get their Green or Liberal people into parliament want to change the system to one that will let in lunatics, racists and traitors. Absolute madness.
Saw a poll today that has Reform at

Poll out today had Reform at 32%. I know it’s 4 years away, but areyou still happy with our FPTP system that will give Farage a 20-30 seat majority from a third of the popular vote in a GE?

Well they can vote him out at the next election
And how would members of Reform vote him out as party leader, should they choose to do so?
