Oh that we could aspire to such greatness.
As it happens, only 4 of the 6 seats in Burnley went to Reform. The other two went to independents.
Only 4 of 6

Do you think the Conservative Party will ever come back with strength? I think this might be comparable to the time when the Liberal party state lost a century of dominance to the new and upcoming Labour Party. The question maybe who becomes or remains the second dominating party - Labour or the Lib Dems?
I guess you know the answer to my question then

That would be getting a lot further away from the reform MPs and the people who's interests Reform represent in parliament.Nearly everyone who owns a house in Brighton could afford to buy two houses. They may have to move, though. They might even have to live near some of those less well-off people who voted for Reform!
Would this be the same Burnley that once had 8 BNP councillors acting as the official opposition on the local council?Only 4 of 6![]()
No-one is really discussing them though. No-one has identified a policy and discussed how it will help with the perceived problem.Quite funny reading some posters trying to legitimise Reform and their ridiculous policies.
Discussing them as if they are some credible entity.
What an absolute embarrassment politics has become.
Ever since us populous plebs we were given the responsibility of casting a YES or NO vote to attempt to make a decision on the vastly nuanced and complex issue of our EU membership, morons now think their ridiculous opinions are valid.
Attempting to engage in serious conversation about Toad of Toad Hall and his racist rabble of suited weasels as if they are going to take their responsibilities seriously or carry them out effectively.
The idiots won. The world was yours for the taking and you took it. Enjoy.
Most of our current radioactive waste is stored at Stellafield currently, so why not use that?As part of their genius small scale nuclear reactors for all plan, have they detailed where the nuclear waste will be going? Perhaps theyāll store it all in tents?

Small modular reactors produce high levels of nuclear waste
Small modular reactors, long touted as the future of nuclear energy, will actually generate more radioactive waste than conventional nuclear power plants, according to research from Stanford and the University of British Columbia.news.stanford.edu
The problem with the manifesto is that it simply doesnāt add up which means the policies are not worth the paper they are written on. It is so easy to promise the world but now letās see how they deliver in the authorities they control. It should be easy for them.I'm not a reform fan, the question was what policies do you agree with which I picked some from. No I don't think reforms figures will add up and I'll never vote for someone who is allied to Trump like he is. That said they have a number of policies I strongly agree with, and obviously some that I very much disagree with.
The pile on here triggered by the election results has been intriguing with people rabidly smearing the voters and policies as stupid, racist etc. I think it was commander who said it that a left wing Brighton forum really isn't the place to gauge the opinions and mood of a very large, if not majority of the population.

I suppose you could argue that during the Brexit campaign the establishment wanted us to vote Remain. The problem with the manifesto is that it simply doesnāt add up which means the policies are not worth the paper they are written on. It is so easy to promise the world but now letās see how they deliver in the authorities they control. It should be easy for them.
My biggest issue is that people vote for anti-establishment through a private school educated kid who moved into banking before being a career politician who rinsed his expenses and rarely ever turned up for work because he was too busy doing PR shoots. I am struggling to see how he could be more establishment.
Do you mean Sellafield? Most of our current radioactive waste is stored at Stellafield currently, so why not use that?
The private sector I will assume help with some of the costs, here's an article from Rolls RoyceDo you mean Sellafield?
If so, it was only ever designed as a temporary option and is fast filling up. Niges nukes for all plan will need to find an awful lot more storage options than are currently available. Very costly to store temporarily and even more costly to store in more permanent solutions.
Quite possibly..although they do state clean net zero energy source which wonāt go down well! What are the proposed funding sources for a load of these dotted around the country? Calling them clean energy is a bit naughty imo due to the waste they produce. The private sector I will assume help with some of the costs, here's an article from Rolls Royce

"The Rolls-Royce SMR programme is forecast to create 40,000 regional UK jobs by 2050 and generate £52bn in economic benefit."
True.No-one is really discussing them though. No-one has identified a policy and discussed how it will help with the perceived problem.
Lots of focus on the results of the council election, how Brighton doesn't understand and how their supporters should not be thought of as thick nor racist.
Let's face it no one on here is even prepared to come out and admit to being a reform voter/supporter. Not that I am surprised.
Oh we did talk about electricity pylons for a while.![]()
Given the chance, i definately would have voted Reform UK...True.
I mean, is there a discussion to be had? Itās pretty obvious that Reform voters are thick and/or racist.
Just look at the ones on here; Unable to answer any questions coherently and in some cases like Wallace, they donāt even understand the role that the Reform members have been voted in to perform.
I donāt blame them for not admitting to being as dumb as a bag of cabbage. They probably donāt even realise.
What is it about the former Coutts account holder, whose children hold dual nationality, allowing them freedom of movement, while at the same time his policies deny your children the same?Given the chance, i definately would have voted Reform UK...
Not proven in the application of generating domestic electricity at scale anywhere.Theyāre not unproven at all. All our subs run for a lifetime on SMRs. The civil on-land versions are just not expected to be online for a few more years.
