Whatever your political persuasion it is astonishing for a Government that won a majority the size that it did to then get so few seats at the next council election. Struggling to remember something as bad as this happening to a new elected Government so quickly.

Labour's tally equals its lowest previous recorded performance in 2009, while the Conservative estimate is the party's lowest-ever recorded.

So we can conclude that is at least one person in Kent who doesn't vote Reform. Even that feels surprising.

From a very high base (post Boris majority). Labour only getting 66 of nearly 1,300 seats declared so far is astonishing on the backdrop of their massive parliamentary majority. A total rejection of their policies to date.
