Good to see the following appointments:

Zahawi: Secretary of State for zero dignity but damn good expenses
Braverman: Secretary of state for cruelty to the most vulnerable
Gove: Secretary of state for revenge

Pretty strange to bring Braverman back, a fop to the ERG?

Quite an easy stick for Starmer to beat Sunak with since he said that we would lead with integrity hours ago,

Shocking stuff. I was quite, well not “positive” exactly, but certainly it is a better cabinet than before. Then he goes and brings Braverman back. What is that all about?!

This Braverman move is absolutely absurd. How exactly does Sunak think this is going to play out? He must, must, have needed her backing.

Ancient Chinese proverb says 'once cat litter in advanced stage of decomposition, moving the turds around makes very little difference'

seems where we’re at, the same bunch of people that have failed 2015. Making things easy for Starmer

This is basically the Truss cabinet. I give him 6 months now.

He didn't have a majority of MPs until Johnson dropped out. His supporters went to their second preference and then Sunak realised a majority. Not a very strong one as he ended up with 55%. Second preferential vote? Now where have I heard that before? Nice to see that the Tory MPs allow themselves some kind of PR when they vote. It's alright for some.
181 Tory MPs actually declared for him - three times as many as for Johnson and Mordaunt combined (38 dec;ared for Johnson, 25 for Mordaint; sauce- the FT). 55% or not, that is a substantial mahrity. Anyway, the right man (among the choices actually available) has got the job, terrible Truss's career is dead and buried, so no quibbles necessary; sighs of relief all round.
