does anyone anywhere think that If BJ had actually got the votes he would have stood down? Of course he wouldn't, he simply cant admit defeat, so is trying to make out he is doing "the right thing" and being the better person- what a complete tosspot

At least Sunak will retore some resemblance of normality until next election

Sunak's first job needs to be to get this person as far away from central government as possible.

Polite and evil.

And always bloody wrong stating that BJ would 'clearly stand' a few hours ago.

the "bullshitters apprentice"!

He possibly did, but if Mordaunt dropped out dishy rishi could have ended up with twice as Johnson.

Johnson is a lazy coward quite unfit for the fight.

All this winner nonsense, he's a lucky chancer whose only won elections against damaged opposition. Fingers crossed he loses his seat at the general election.

By backing Mordaunt, this clown has confirmed Rishi’s coronation tomorrow. He is the last person she’d want backing her.

Not sure the red faced middle englanders are gonna take a billionaire person of colour telling them that they have to tighten their purse strings and that we are all in this together very well.

He'll cash in now with lucrative speaker engagements, you won't see him within 20 miles of his constituency office and then he'll bottle it and stand down at the next election with some bullshit excuse rather than the face the ignominy of getting booted out.

Yep, he will be too busy and it’s not fair to neglect the global Boris foundation. Goldsmith I suspect will be the new candidate

I rarely bet, but did take a bet this time, as I was certain the corrupt former PM would not be successful. There were far too many people against him within the Tory party but he was so vain he still needed to explore the possibility. Awful, awful man

Zahawi jumping ship already :lolol:

No political interviewer could have done a better job of exposing Zahawi for what he is, than Zahawi's own tweet.

It's already got 15,000 replies. I'm guessing, but not many of them will be complimentary.

He won't last to the General Election.

He'll be kicked out of Parliament when the Privileges Committee finds against him.

Good news. Now all he has to do is unite the Conservative party, try to rebuild/salvage some sintilla of economic credibility, sort out the countries finances, keep the lights on this winter, deal with Putin, alleviate cost of living crisis, take on the unions, stop the NHS collapsing this winter and get the Tories into a position to at least have an outside chance of winning the next General election ...

Good luck Rishi !!👍
