a galaxy far far away
And can I just say, what a marvellous experience it was.

The place felt like a festival week, at one of the village grounds. The walk up, and entrance was folding tables, and a temporary little portable barrier. It was like walking up to a Sunday morning boot fair. But lounging around on the grass banks, under the shade of a tree, suddenly turns into TEST CRICKET ffs. Really quite beautiful, really quite surreal.

Marvellous scenes.

Watching a bit on TV, I was struck by how few people were there. England would be one of the biggest games for NZ after Australia. It must have made it a nice experience. But it's a bit of a worry for test cricket

Shame we didn't play better

Maybe, but having followed Brighton for 40 years now, attending over 1,000 games, my trips to sporting events do not take that into account too much, or I may well have stopped going a long time ago. You go to that many Brighton games over that long a period by having the capacity to enjoy the event, and the occasion, over the victory, or quality of performance.
