Could be a good signing, a highly rated player. It's good that the Albion have been cautious with the initial two month loan, but if it works out for him with us he is eligible for that to be extended to a year.

Nice one!!

Chelsea will be a rich hunting ground for loan signings this season. As they go about buying every decent player in Europe it will mean last seasons first team players will be looking at a season of 2nd team football. I am sure there will be a few young Chelsea players looking to get a season of first team football rather than put up with reserves or youth team.

Good work Mr Coppell!

I expect the Liam Brady / Dick Knight friendship to come up trumps again with one or two Arsenal players coming down here on loan.

I think loan signings will be our main transfer activity before the start of the season, and then maybe pick up a player or two who is out of contract and not found another club when the season starts.

The only drawback with the arrangement is that if he scores lots of goals (and he did well at QPR while on loan there, I rate him) his price will go up and other clubs will look at him.

We need him to score goals that nobody notices, if at all possible. :jester:

yeah I can see him becoming the next Sidwell, does amazingly well for us then some crappy outfit who wear their shirts sideways come in and grab him from us :D
Not that reading would do that now they have the Goat, but other clubs would try and nick him, hopefully we'll have first refusal on him or something.

Just checked his stats and he's the same height as me!

 Here's to successful short arses on the football pitch

Defoe is short and a similar player.
Expect Defoe is a tosser.

Need another striker with a bit of prescence along side him now.
Sir Bob would have been good.....

Not surprised about the signing. He's related to our Chairman

I know that's a joke, but don't forget that we did have one of Knight's relatives playing for us - and he chose Bradford rather than coming back home.

I'm not as excited as everyone else about this, he was truly awful at wednesday, and Chelsea fans don't rate him, ok he scored a few at 'uddersfield but only time will tell.

thanks dwayne even i was starting to feel (only a bit mind you) just the same slightly more optimistic with others comments passed on him (even though id prefer a tall target man) until you posted that!
