New players???

With gus and the boys coming back tonight from portugul and with just under 2 weeks to the start of the season does anyone think we will see anymore new players before the Swindon game?

We don't need another centre back. I want a left midfielder, striker and a winger who can play either wings

Another striker and winger is a must. If Murray gets injured for a long period, as he has before, we are screwed, end of.

Why do we need another centre back as we have Elphick, Dunk and in Gus's words the best defender in the club Adam El Abd, so I dont see that as a priority as much as a left midfielder and striker.

Well Gus has already said we need 3 new players which are

Striker

Left winger

Left back

No mention of a CB and we don't really need one. If anything i would plump for a loan keeper instead.

I just think that the defence had been terrible for the last two/three seasons, that change was needed. Calderon and Painter came in and barely put a foot wrong. The only mistakes at the back were coming from Elphick and El Abd. Controversial maybe, but thats just what I think. Maybe it is time for a change, maybe not? Surely they will mature into better players. But to me, they dont 100% fit into our style of play and are prone to some cock ups still. Just opinion like.

I think there is space for ONE of them in a defence full of ball players. I am very happy with:

I think that has an excellent balance of grit and class.

I couldnt see Brezovan keeping clean sheets when he got in the side for us either. But we did. Its not just about the keeper.

Rowan Vine is on his way out at QPR, we had a look at him before, some said a done deal if I remember rightly? Dont think many on here rated him, but is he worth a look?
