Ed Milibland launched his bid to be the next Prime Minister in 2015. Should the Tories be quaking in their boots ? Discuss

No. Miliband is an utter twat, even more so than Cameron.

It's like deciding who you would rather see win between Man Utd and Chelsea, and in both situatuons situation, the blues win.

mind you its hard not to miss the guy he is everywhere meeting people he has a very firm handshake and a good smile which is always a good start in my book

They'll be favourable again in 2015 once the brunt of austerity has kicked in. Voters are fickle like that.

I agree with you; Labour will have to monumentally **** up the election campaign to not be voted in. But with the current bunch of clowns this is, of course, highly possible!

What will be interesting in 2015 is if the LibDem vote fragments and UKIP become the 3rd party with no seats.

The Parties will change. Policy will not.

"The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the...people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy."

Not until he gets rid of Ed Balls.

The economy is screwed and we have the worst chancellor and shadow chancellor ever.

true story. comical thing is that Balls policy is to do the same as Osborne, just different ammounts.

What will be interesting in 2015 is if the LibDem vote fragments and UKIP become the 3rd party with no seats.

im not sure the Libdem vote can fragment, as they support that party through indifference or disaffection of both the others. they'll just abstain.

Torys for the rich, labour for the poor so its labour for me then.

Really??? The poor have been forgotten by all the three major clans...The amazing thing is, asa low earner I am actually better off under this shower than I was under lunatic brown!..None of the three privately educated men has a bloody clue!

where do we apply to get Old Labour back?

There was in the old Soviet days a joke that went roughly as follows:

Old lady filling out paperwork for an internal passport is asked:
'Old lady, where were you born?' -- "St. Petersburg, comrade."
'And where were you married?' -- "Petrograd, comrade."
'And where do you live today?' -- "Leningrad, comrade."
'And where do you wish to move to on this passport? -- "St. Petersburg, comrade."

Not a few Labour voters feel that way, I reckon...

I think many LibDem voters will stay at home , too ashamed of the consequences of 2010.

He has to last until the next election first, I can see that he might be replaced soon. Who really believes the next election is going to be as far away as 2015 anyway? 2014 I reckon with a slim Tory lead that will erode away.

The Conservatives couldn't manage an outright majority at the last election despite the Labour party having taken us into recession, being led by the most unpopular prime minister of the post war era and trailing by 7 points in the opinion polls. Given that they couldn't win outright in immensely favourable conditions, I think the Conservatives will have to do massively better in the next two years, or Labour foul up spectacularly with their election campaign, for the Conservatives to have any chance of an outright majority.
