Sooo… I guess his history with us is a bit up and down.
Loved his step overs though…
I have no recollection of that.Did behave like a prick on his return to the Albion, giving fans the big one
He drew one game and won the other (great game at Craven Cottage) to get us out of the relegation zone, before Chris Hughton took over.I don't think people wished him ill as such, it's just that some of our more excitable fans touted him as a future Albion manager. (He won a game in charge of us as interim manager y'know). More knowledgeable and intelligent fans know that he would be a disaster as Albion manager - not there's any chance of him getting the job in future as he's as far away from a modern Bloom/Barber appointment as you can get.
But yeah, I wish him well. Not everybody can manage in the Premier League.
Dancing on the pitch in the torrential rain. What short memories some have loads of Albion fans doing practically the same when we beat Swindon in the play offs. I certainly went batshit when we won.
Yes, I know, that was my point. I would argue that two good Championship results are not enough to be considered a potential manager for a top-ten PL club. (Or even a struggling PL club as Southampton can testify). He drew one game and won the other (great game at Craven Cottage) to get us out of the relegation zone, before Chris Hughton took over.
Bit harsh he didn’t get enough time at Southampton to do anything. In hindsight he should of stayed at Luton that season.Yes, I know, that was my point. I don't think there's a conflict between wishing him every success (which I do), and not wanting to ever see him anywhere near the Albion manager's job.
I wasn't saying I wanted him to manage us now as it is fairly clear he is good at League One/Championship level.Yes, I know, that was my point. He's lost almost all of his goodwill there. First time to Stoke was more understandable for them but to come back and then go to Southampton at the first opportunity means most simply don't like him anymore.Bit harsh he didn’t get enough time at Southampton to do anything.
