Name Championship strikers who are more effective and consistent than the ones we have

Basically who would you really like to see playing for us, forgetting the financial constraints we apparently have

I am definitely under the impression that we have one of the weakest forward lines in the division, am I wrong?

Maybe it's the way we play, maybe we've been unlucky but are there that many strikers that are more effective?

I was surprised the other week when someone posted up that we have more shots on goal than the majority of other clubs as I was kidding myself that our strikers weren't getting the service. If we are having so many shots, then we must be making the chances, no?

Anyway I'll start with an obvious one -

1) Tom Ince

Ince is more of a wide man isn't he?

As strikers go: Glen Murray, Jordan Rhodes, Charlie Austin, David Nugent, Marvin Emnes, Chris Wood, Billy Sharpe, Simon Cox, Luciano Bechio, Kevin Doyle, Sylvain Ebanks-Blake.

Any of those would improve our strike force.

When you consider that Ince isn't a striker, you're right it's not very obvious.

Blimey 18 appearances and 13 goals for Blackpool this season, any striker would be chuffed with those stats though

Pretty much this. Nugent, Austin, Emnes, Cox, Doyle, Rhodes are only ones I'd consider good enough to play in the Premiership if in the right kind of team.

Glenn Murray - the end. He was and remains quality and is the difference between us as we are, and genuine promotion candidates. Gutted. :-(

Beckford is getting £40k per week and I would assume Rhodes will be on a good wage with Blackburns parachute payments Emnes probably on a good wage so if you take out the high earners what do you have left that possibly earn about the same as CMS & Barnes and how many of them have scored more, possibly Austen. Looking at the list that Fareham Seagull posted I would suggest that our two are at the lower end of the earning scale

Sounds like a figure you've pulled out your arse. Show me a source and I'll retract that. It's the same as how some on here thing CMS is on 20k a week.

When the question of us signing a striker came up on Radio Sussex during the commentary of a game Warren Aspinall quoted that figure as to why we couldn't sign a prolific striker like Beckford. As he works for the club I would assume that he knows and wouldn't quote something he knew to be untrue or easily proved to be so.

Aspinall can't even pronounce a players name correctly despite watching him every other week. I wouldn't take his observations on what certain players are earning as gospel.

As he is one of our scouts tasked with finding a striker I would think that he is quite well informed as to what we can afford and what others are earning. His mispronunciation of names does not come into it. Unlike most who post on here he doesn't claim to be perfect in everything.

Most of the above + Lukas Jutkiewicz.

Can see a swap of CMS for Becchio in January.

forget about going for a championship striker, we need to go for some brazilian talent, someone who will give us something different to the usual championship players who lack flare and dont have alot of potential in the premier league.
