That was brilliant, how could I forget that! Made it into the paper (the sun - it was lying around at work, I didnt buy it honest!) the next day too! Who was it who nearly trod on it? Was it Piercy or someone like that?

It was Wolves v Scarborough, opening day of the 1986/87 season. I think that it was Scarborough's first ever game in the football league and it was Wolves first game in the Fourth Divison after their rather amusing free fall through the league.

Close, but not quite correct. It was the opening day of 87/88 season. It was Scarborough's first game in the League, but Wolves were actually in the Fourth Division (along with us) the season before. I went up to Scarborough a couple of months later and the policing was well over the top as a result of the chaos that Wolves caused when they went there.

Wolves eventually went up as champions. We were runners-up, having beaten Wolves 3-2 at Ninian and 4-1 at Molineaux. That was my favourite season ever. Steve Bull was banging in goals all over the place for Wolves and our strike partnership of Gilligan and Bartlett was brilliant for the Fourth Division. Some great memories.

Paul Brooker had gone to Leicester and he was back playing in this friendly.

He chased it down the wing but the squirrel outpaced him.

H block were cheering for the squirrel

Same as.

Also Paul Ince playing at Withdean, it was a kind of 'WTF' moments.

I have to say beating MAnsfield 6-0 in the glorious sunshine in the first league game after exile at Gillingham was pretty wierd

The stunned looks on 30k odd Newcastle fans' faces in '83 when Wardy got us through in a 3rd round replay that as we all know led to the final.

Eircom League Division One fixture, back when it was just Irish Division Two. Desolate rural stadium (might have been Athlones, I can't for the life of me remember). Match was bloody violent. Ended up with 18 players on the pitch, none of whom were goalies.

Scoreline was only 3-2 or so though.

This was YEARS back, I'll have to ask my brother to see can he remember who was playing or why we were even there...

The Cheltenham away game in the promotion season with the match going on and all away fans staring at the burger van on fire. It was definitely more interesting then the match from an Albion perspective.

Thousands of people running onto the pitch on cue and tearing down the goalposts.

We were 3-0 down at Southend. Brighton activity could be heard from outside the ground. Swarms of home fans were running towards the back of the stand overlooking the outside of the ground. About ten coppers were scurrying up the terraces to find out what was going on.

The next thing that happened was surreal. Coppers and fans scattered in all directions as a wheelie bin flung from outside made its entrance above them looping the loop. The scene was almost repeated a few moments later but as the rabble scattered another wheelie bin hit the perimeter wall with a thud and fell back outside.
