Never seen it but heard about the end of season game, possibly at Selhurst Park, where the away fans (Coventry?) were still in fancy dress when it all kicked off on the pitch at the end. I'll always be haunted by the fact that I missed out on the sight of a Palace fan getting beaten up by two hirsute nuns, or a fat Vegas-era Elvis running after some hapless geek.

Would that be the game against Birmingham City I mentioned about three posts up?

The scenes were indeed very marvellous.

I was at the game because my brother took me and he is a Palace fan. I was only a nipper as I think it was '89 (though might be wrong).

When I was little I used to have to go to Palace some games because my Dad took me and my brother to footer and although my Dad is Albion, had to be fair to my brother as well.

Its not that it was violent, it was just THE most surreal sight I had ever seen at a football game which I think was the original question.

I always found that TV shot of the Wolves fan dancing on top of the roof of a stand (Scarborough??), before falling through onto the terrace below, both bizarre and amusing in a 'now you see me, now you don't' kind of way.

I think, and I may be wrong, it was on the main stand at Molineux after their UEFA Fairs Cup Final home leg against Spurs.

Explanation accepted mate ;)

Although if you EVER use the word "footer" again on NSC you're a dead man :nono:

It wasn't, it was away somewhere shitty, like Scarborough. I may be wrong but that might have been on the same grim end of season day in 1985 as the Bradford fire and a bloke attending his first game getting crushed to death by a hooligan-pushed wall at St Andrews. Those were the days eh? :(

Maybe it happened twice. ;)

I remember Frank Skinner showing it on Fantasy Football as one of the funniest clips ever. That and Jurgen Klinsmann getting his in the face by a ball at training.

It was Wolves v Scarborough, opening day of the 1986/87 season. I think that it was Scarborough's first ever game in the football league and it was Wolves first game in the Fourth Divison after their rather amusing free fall through the league.

Aldershot then beat Wolves in the play off's to go up and some Wolves fans to this day hold a grudge against Aldershot.

storming the pitch in the heavy rain after defeating swindon on penalites in the play off semi's and being down and out. Having the prospect of going to the millenium stadium to watch brighton :clap2:

Those RAF people parachuting into the ground before kick-off away to Colchester last season was quite surreal, the funny thing was when one of them landed outside the ground and you could see all this smoke coming from outside the ground.
