That's where you are wrong anyone who admitted to liking Genesis/Phil Collins openly were derided. I know I am one of them, in fact I was so surprised when I went to the Genesis concert in 1992 and I was not the only one there, as I was told so many times how shit they were. The thread says over rated. Which means it needs to be rated in the first place.
I always assumed any and all sales for Phill Collins were the result of mass hypnosis, a desire for fitting in and/or chemtrails/vaccines.![]()
The CD version includes the whole gig except for Tommy (it just has Amazing Journey/Sparks. I'd say that in that form it probably is the best live rock album of it's time, except I prefer the Isle of Wight concert from a few months later. The Who, Live at (Dirty) Leeds.
From a band that I do rate (highly) and enjoyed seeing live back in 1979. I bought Live at Leeds as it was described as the best live LP ever. It's not. Side one is fine but too short and side two only has two songs, including 15 minutes of My Generation (mixed with numerous other tracks).
My son pinched it off me, played it and then returned it. He didn't do that with any of the other LPs he pinched off me!
Not the Screamdelica thing again and now you're adding Kind Of Blue! You're going to say you didn't rate Marcus Sablier nextKind of Blue is heralded as some sort of unimpeachable genius and yet in reality is unlistenable hogshite.
Screamadelica is also shit and everyone loves it, wrongly.
YesMaybe but imo Yes as a band are over rated!

Well, clearly it's all opinions. That's the fun of it.That’s why I’ve abstained so far from this thread, it’s merely opinions, if someone likes, for example, Coldplay or Take That they won’t like Radiohead, I do, equally there are plenty of best selling albums I don’t like. I simply don’t listen to them it doesn’t mean they’re overrated, I’m not qualified to say that.
Blimey! If you think that's unlistenable, don't ever try Ornette Coleman.Kind of Blue is heralded as some sort of unimpeachable genius and yet in reality is unlistenable hogshite.
Do you know what... because it's you, and because I'm optimistic about the Pritchard revolution, I'll give it another crack and report back. Not the Screamdelica thing again and now you're adding Kind Of Blue! You're going to say you didn't rate Marcus Sablier next
Out of interest, what jazz do you rate?Do you know what... because it's you, and because I'm optimistic about the Pritchard revolution, I'll give it another crack and report back.
Kind of Blue is gash though, and I say that as someone who knows jazz.
