Worthing
As someone who has watched the movies and read a lot of the books, including the Silmarillion, I enjoyed it.

Looking forward to season 2 in a couple of years!

Wheel of Time TV series axed after 3 seasons. Was never going to be finished.
I was about to start watching season 3, but i dont think ill bother now. The first two were enjoyable enough , but the whole thing is so long it was always unlikely to last the course. It seems an awful lot of money to spend and not finish the project, and tbh that was always the likely outcome with a 14 book series

Perhaps it would be better to adapt some of the shorter fantasy series so that at least there is a realistic prospect of completing the story- The Magician trilogy by R E Feist could easily be told over a 2 or 3 season series .

Im getting to the point of not watching series unless its already completed, as so many are just cancelled without resolution, Halo, Wheel of time, Beacon 23, just recent examples. Also the growing trend of having 2 or 3 years between seasons becomes problematic as audiences will have moved on, and forgotten, lost interest before the next installments-3 body problem could well suffer because of this, great first season but already over a year and season 2 is I believe yet to start filming.

There is a lot to be said for the one and done series of 6-10 episodes- the recent Earth Abides was great, all wrapped up in one season of 8 (i think) episodes, and audiences not left hanging
