I voted 10. It's as good as it's ever been . . . .

If we get any better then I'll just go up a bit further, one more, to 11.
You written almost exactly what I was going to write, with apologies to Spinal Tap. This is the best it has ever been for Brighton, but the thought we are only part way on the journey is unbelievable.

8 is about as high as I can go without a complete restructuring of the premier league or actually winning something (or maybe getting into Europe). Or sign a striker :ROFLMAO::unsure:

Our football is out of this world at the moment. De Zerbi's football is more entertaining than Potter's and we are in incredibly exciting times.

It is all rather ‘rub your eyes’ stuff presently, and then open your eyes to see if it is true. So my mojo is 8. Deduct 1 because it is football; things can change very quickly, and deduct another 1 because our record against other top 10 sides is nowhere near as good as against the lower half: 8 points from 27 against other top 10, and 19 from 24 against the rest.

I've always thought of the community side of the club as what you do outside the professional side of your football operations. The Women's team is a professional side and the decision where to play is a professional one. Isn't treating them as part of the interests of the community disparaging to their status as a professional side in their own right?
I would say that treating the women’s team as second class citizens and not deserving of the Amex is not including them in our community. I have a wider perspective of the term ‘community’, so no, not disparaging at all.

They play at a football league ground, like many of the WSL teams do - because they get crowds of a couple of thousand. Last time I checked playing at a football league ground was still quite an honour, not being treated as 2nd class as you put it.

I’m a bit old fashioned in that I still look up to footballers who make it into County sides, then full respect to those getting paid in the National conferences before you get to league football. The women being treated as League One sides is far from disparaging or 2nd class.

Not sure it’s a stick that needs beating the club’s community endeavours with.

It's a 10 from me. The only time it has been better than this was 83 & the cup final (1st game). That was when the cup meant something.

They play for Brighton in Crawley.

It’s an honour for Brighton to have a top flight women’s team. Perhaps we should recognise that honour by making sure that team plays in Brighton.

Again, I am not attacking the club’s charitable and outreach activities, and it would be misleading to conflate the two, so please don’t let that happen.

What I am saying is that if the Amex Community Stadium is there to serve all the community, then it should be the place where our women’s team play. When will they be good enough for that honour?

I have a couple of mo-jo ratings. One is emotion related to the most recent result eg 10 v Everton, defeats 6 etc. The other is the ‘heads’ view of the club, we are are on such a good long term trajectory that it’s hard not to think minimum 9.

For not wanting to conflate things, you are doing a brilliant job of it. 'Albion in the Community' is Albion's charitable and outreach arm. The Amex Stadium does serve community activities, hosts county cup finals, kids get invited in for programmes. The Women's team do have a min of 2 fixtures at the Amex, and we've just spent £8.5m on their own specific excellence centre at Lancing.

Ideally they would play in Brighton, but Crawley is the closest ground other than the Amex to meet WSL license rules.

10 from me. If you cannot enjoy what is happening now you'll never be happy. The emergence of Ferguson has just amped up the mojo levels. Of course there are the usual too-early caveats but from the evidence of the last two games Evan possesses the physical strength, and positional nous that we have been looking out for in a forward, I'm excited. When Welbeck returns we can manage Ferguson's minutes.

I'm not going, as I am sick of The Riverside, but I am even excited about Saturday's game now.

For me, we are somewhere I never dreamt we'd be. Late '70's was an unbelievable time with Clough, Taylor & Mullery. Promotion and mid table mediocrity was the aim.
Fast forward to 2011 and again promotion and avoiding relegation year after year was the aim. As with the 80's, we could be up there for a week before being put in our place and sliding back down again.
But now we are amongst the elite and not out of place.

Oh Bold come on!

I've not mentioned Albion in the Community once in my threads. This is the first time it has come up. I've already said that this is not a criticism of outreach activities, and that my definition of the word 'community' is somewhat wider.

And lastly, allowing the women's team to have 2 games a year at the Amex, and the rest of the year forcing them to play in Crawley is both disparaging and proves that the women's team could play their games in Brighton.

You bought the community side of the club into in your first post then said I was conflating things. I’m not sure you really know what you’re trying to say, mainly the women should play at the Amex, but very good reasons why they don’t.

‘Forcing them’ ‘disparaging’ - all very colourful, but Maupay-esque wide of the mark. It might be preferable if they could play at the Amex, everything else is just bluster because so much has been put into the Womens game.
