I've posted this on NSP but I thought this one deserved a far wider audiance.

I've just had a long conversation with a couple of the women that I work with about the virtues of moisturiser and all the other beauty products on the market for men.

I've been chastised for not using any of these products. My argument was that there's plenty I need to do to make myself more attractive before I consider face creams. And before any of you start, yes I know, better clothes, lose weight, decent haircut, plastic surgery blah blah blah.

So what do you people reckon? Are these products so embeded into your daily routine that you couldn't imagine life without them now, or are they solely for those bowling from the members end?

I don't use it at the moment but am gonna start. I get some dry skin under my tache that is very ittitable and I reckon a bit of Nivea or alike will do a lot for me.

If I dont use a moisturiser my skin goes seriously dry and I look rank. This only started happening when I was 28 and since then Ive had to use it frequently, also, is you do use it itll stop you looking like a wrinkly old tosser at the age of 40!

Nothing gay about moisturising, merely a practical way of not looking like parmesan all hours of the day.

Clinique for men face scrub, Decleor night balm (moisturuser).

seriously made a hell of a difference after few months! used to look grey and drab, now smooth and loadsa colour.

say what you want, take the piss all you want. Ill be fukin young girls well into my later years.

its like blokes spending 100 on some nice jeans or a jumper then saying looking after your skin is girly...Italian and London blokes are all bang into it.

Any bloke who uses moisturiser is a poof.

The whole male cosmetics thing is a complete load of bollocks. If you eat sensibly and drink lots of water your skin will be fine. The marketing head of Nivea deserves the Nobel Prize for Making Men Look Like Idiots.

i may as well put what i put on nsP about it then:

i have had a few facials (stop sniggering at the back) at the beauty salon my old dear goes to. I used to be embarassed and not tell anyone cos I thought it sounded a bit gay but, f*** it, i enjoyed them. nice blonde bird massaging my face, nice i thought. :)

You can eat all the greens in the world and drink enough water to fill an Olympic pool but come late November in London, your face needs help mate.

It's the opposite of poofy actually because I've yet to meet a woman who doesn't think it's a good thing for men to do...

Yep, and women like men to cook, clean and do the washing-up as well. Hardly men's tasks though, are they!

I maintain, any man that unscrews a jar of Nivea For Men is probably sitting on an upturned stool while he does it.

It's an age thing.

Anyway, it's enough hassle shaving, cleaning teeth etc without having to scrub down of a night...

Marketing people are turning normal blokes into poofs. There was a time when Blue WKD was a girls drink...
