John Regis, although his younger brothers Bognor and Lyme were nowhere near as quick.
Did his arse cross the line in 21 seconds.
 




More pedantry - no one quite knows for sure what the British record Gemili has to beat, Regis ran 19.87 but that time has never been ratified because it was at altitude in Italy, so the record is probably 19.93 that Regis ran in the 93 world champs

Gemili looks to be in imperious form. Only took up the sport 2 years ago and has PB'ed twice today. Hopefully should be an outside hope for a medal tomorrow, especially if he can beat his PB again.

He has fantastic potential.

I've never been able to find out why Regis' 19.87 was never ratified. It can't be because of altitude because the former world record of 19.72 by Pietro Mennea was set in Mexico City which is higher than Sestriere where Regis set his time. There must be another reason, not enough officials or something like that.
