From a selfish point of view I'd like to keep Brentford in the Championship for the away day we get and if they did make it through the playoffs to the promised land it would be another smaller club beating us there and that does sort of sting a little.

However on the other side of the coin I just can't help but like them and think it really would be amazing for their fans and the club to feature in the Premier League 2015/16. After all, for all the Leeds, Forests and Wednesdays we've got battling to relive the glory days in the top flight, isn't having the minnows get their shot at the big time really what it's all about?

Re: can you call a game off on the final day of season? Yes, happened at Brighton v York in 1997 when protesting fans invaded the pitch and broke both crossbars. The game was replayed on a Thursday morning, 11am kick-off.
