I think Slade is a better manager, and agree that MA did absoultely balls up his second stint. But still think that he is a hero and a genuinnly top bloke. I don't think many people would have been more upset about the situation that Micky left us in than himself. So for that reason i hope he gets apointed as the Port Vale Manager (don't think he will though) and turns his career around.

Why would any club want to give Adams a job after the complete balls up he made of his last stint at Brighton? He may have had a sucessful time at the club first time round but all the signs are that he is now well past his sell by date. His motivational and tactical skills also appear to be limited. Slade is such a superior manager by comparison.

Don't forget the balls up he made of Leicester and Coventry as well.

Oh and pre Brighton Brentford and Swansea.

Why would anyone want that buffoon anything to do with their football club? PE teacher is about all he is worth!

Are you 12? Twice in one thread. Can't you construct an argument or accept your opinion might be shit? Adams recent record has been a relegation as some sort of advisor to Colchester and taking a decent Brighton team to the edge having been the 1st manager for ages to be given a decent budget. Fine love him for what he did eons ago but at least accept he ain't done ANYTHING good for a long time at least.

Football's a funny old game, plenty of top top quality managers balls up a job almost inexplicably. Sergio Ramos at Spurs, Harry Redknapp at Southampton for example.
They aren't inexplicable. Ramos couldn't speak English, or get to grips with the way the game is played in the Premiership. Redknapp didn't have a massive budget at Southampton. Adams had neither his old drive or the circumstances around the club and in terms of player recruitment the second time around.

Well said:clap:

I'm just waiting for all the do-gooders who waded into the negative threads about Mayo and Robinson the other day with insults and arguments of their own, as well as the idiots who managed to take offence at one post I made about Fraser, to appear protect an actual legend in Micky Adams on this thread.

Welcome to the parallel universe of the Complete Badger, who can't remember what he's posted in the past even when it's led to a ban.

MA would start with a clean slate at Port Vale. He is on a shortlist of 6 so must be in with a chance.

I've never liked Port vale so i hope Micky gets the job. I'm sure the Albion would help him out and listen favourably to any bids for McLard or hawkins.

How was taking Leicester to the Premiership and giving them a good run at staying there a balls up? I'd also argue that the Coventry job seems to be a bit of a poisoned chalice at the moment - I wouldn't blame him for failing to get things moving there.

Adams (and several other candidates) has been turned down for the job at Burton Albion, as they've decided to install Paul Peschisolido as their new manager.

i could have taken that leicester team to the premiership - especially by spending money that they didnt have

and I'm pretty confident if I'd tried real hard that even I could have brought it back down again.
