Look like Wirtz is Liverpool bound which is why Bayern have turned their attentions to Mitoma.

The best player by far I think I've seen for us in the 50 years I've supported Brighton.
Think there’s a little recency bias in some of the comments on here. He turned the match off the bench last week so it’s fresh in the memory but there have been several occasions where he has effectively been marked out of the game.
That’s not to say he wouldn’t be a huge loss. He has that rare ability to turn the match with a moment of genius and will be all but impossible to replace on a like for like basis. But life goes on and we shall just have to adapt. He’s been nothing but professional, never once throwing his toys out of the pram to force a move. I’d be really sad to see him go but couldn’t begrudge him the opportunity for one minute.
Price is now the thing and the club will doubtless do what it does in getting maximum value from any deal.

Seems as if Bayern are looking at Mitoma and Rafael Leao for their left wing spot.
Let’s hope they go for the latter.
Cant blame Mitoma one bit for wanting to go. He’s been exemplary in the way he conducts himself and the club will be well aware of the likelihood of him going.
It’s our model and although I expect the transfer fee will disappoint some as it will be less than the Saudi offer, it is another great example to young, talented prospects, why choosing Brighton as their next step is the right one.
The same model works very well for Dortmund and they seem to continuously be able to get over losses of key players.
Let’s hope they go for the latter.

Yep, anyone that can even think about moaning about the way this club has been run astounds me, and it happens too much on here
We do get things wrong, it can be incredibly frustrating to see top class players leave but it is crystal clear that this is the MO of the club to try and stay in the top ten and aim for better.

I'm really clutching at straws here but his best friend Ao Tanaka plays for Leeds - scored 5 in 42 games from midfield. I'm really hoping him and his childhood best friend want to play against each other in the Premier League.
Having said that Bayern Munich is Bayern Munich - can you imagine how many goals Kane would score with Kaoru's direct runs and cute set ups? However Bayern seem to be able to do deals at lower values than one might expect which is a cause for concern. I would feel more comfortable if he'd had 3 or 4 years left on his contract to secure the right price here. With 2 years left expect the max we can push to is £60m or so which is criminally low for a man of his talents.
Personally I would be offerring him whatever he needs to stay here a la Gross and keep him for the next 5 or 6 seasons but I also see this as hugely unrealistic.

We reportedly rejected £54m, then £75m in January, and understood £90m was potentially on the table but told Al Nassr he simply wasn’t for sale so not sure £60m is going to butter any parsnips for Barber.
Can I just say this? No.
I'm not having it. I understand all the totally reasonable factors behind selling Mitoma, and I agree with all of them from a factual basis. It's our model, I trust it and we have to make sales like this would be to continue to thrive, but on an emotional level, no.
Mitoma is a joy. His showreel of goals will be up there with any of our best ever players. His touch is so good that it's almost otherworldly. His attitude is first class. His work ethic is too. His pace and directness is so refreshing. I just love watching him play.
If course he's had some off games, everyone does, but his "on" games are a ridiculous spectacle.

If he didn’t want to go to Saudi they could have offered 200 million and we wouldn’t have sold him. What Saudi offered bears absolutely no relevance to what we’d accept from a club like Bayern if Mitoma made it clear he wanted to go there imo. It could well be up to 50 million, I’d be surprised if it was more unless in add ons. I don’t think TB would be playing hardball like he did with Caicedo and Cucu in Mitoma’s case.
I’d very surprised if he went for £50m.
I'm pretty confident it was more that Mitoma didn't want to go so the money being offered was irrelevant. But the teams interested now are likely to be way more attractive...
