Our defence is shocking. matt ichards is constantly out of position, and frankly he cannot tackle or pass the ball. When he joined he was dreadful. Wilkins blamed that on reserve team football. He then improved from abysmal, to just very bad. Now he is back to abysmal. Matt Richards makes the likes of John Crumplin genuine "Football genius's".

In January he has to be the first to go. If they sign Richards then they must be blind. cant think of a full back that has been so bad for years.

Whing also spends his life 5/10 yards on from our full backs and is always being turned, forcing the center backs to have to cover for him.

In january, we need two full backs. Preferably full backs that defend first, and not try to be what they are not - good footballers. We cant afford "wing backs" but we need to find a couple of defenders. Richards is the worst but Whing is poor also. They are so bad and are costing us games.

By the what, in my view (and I said it at the stat of the season) Lynch should have been played in a holding role in front of the back four and iinstead his is at Forest.

Richards is one of the worst defenders I've seen, always out of position , consistantly skinned & very weak in the tackle, the fact that I'll be happy to see Mayo back says more about how bad Richards is than any other explaination I could find. If you get the chance to see the goals we've conceded this season count how many have come down his side.

No where near as many as have come from wide right, their left winger, past Whing and Elphick.

It'll be interesting to count, though to be honest the whole defence look like county league standard, so perhaps it's unfair to single out Richards.

both are full backs havent been that great this season and dont seem to be able to overlap!!! we have to remember richards scored the winning penalties v city and shrewsbury but would rather see someone else come in.

Richards and Whing get skinned all the time down the flanks by any winger with pace. If Richards is signed in January then we know that the Board expects us to be playing in League 2 next season.

We have conceded lots of goals down both sides, but one of the main reasons for this, and the fact that our full backs don't go forwards is that we never play wide men that can defend. It is the job of the winger/wide midfield player to help out the full back when we defend. None of ours with exception of Anyinsah this season has bothered.
