Mid August , season well under way suggests we are
When we signed Carayol before we were in the loan window, and only able to sign from English clubs.

With us currently able to sign a winger from anywhere in Europe ( or the world with a work permit ), we are truely in the mire if we really can't do better.

Rather like Elliott Bennett he used us to regain fitness after injury.
A better player than he appeared

Hope so for his sake, but the difference is Elliott has succeeded in the PL plus we already knew what he could. Never been that impressed with Carayol even prior to his injury.

I suspect Carayol and Bennett just like Lua Lua will also look much better wingers than previously now we are playing 442 and the wide men are getting the ball much further up the pitch.

On top of this we took both Bennett and Carayol after long injury spells.

Is that by virtue of the fact Carayol couldn't look any worse?

A very relevant point

Murphy story for £2mil seems to have re surfaced on Twitter but just seems to be from their fans - not sure on original source of this. Tweets range from the unfunny 'I'll drive him there myself' to 'I'll return my season ticket if we sell him'. So fickle is football.

Maybe his head has been turned (or maybe he's already fed up with the excuses and the platitudes that gush from Adkins after every less than satisfactory performance)

Well he seems pretty sure of it judging by his tweets. Source is a friend of Murphys apparently ...

Reckon this will happen.

But we'll still need another winger on the right.

He won't join us for two reasons:

1) We're too far from Scotland and he has a baby.
2) Although we've been in the Championship for the last 4 seasons (and in the playoffs for 2 of those) while Sheffield Utd have been in League 1, Brighton would be a backwards step from Utd, and they are more likely to be in the Championship next year than us.

I know this to be true, as I have checked out http://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/brighton-in-for-murphy.40328/

Sounds promising. Although, I'm sure we've seen plenty of similar claims - on here and Twitter - of 'done deals' that never happened from so-called friends of players.

He's a winger and we need wingers, but I'm not sure he's that good, so I'm not overly excited.
