Do they really need Carrick AND Hargreaves ? I'd have thought a world class striker was far higher on their list of priorities.
Not that I give a shit.

They've still not replaced the horse, and I can't see the likes of Saha/Solskjaer or Smith getting enough goals to hang on to Chelseas coat-tails.

Carrick was a good signing (abeit at a ludicrous price), but overall Man U have a weaker squad than last year, while Chelsea are significantly stronger.

A 5-1 win against one of the relegation candidates changes nothing.

Based on nothing - I've got a feeling in my water. However, its usually not being able to stuff the teams they should (rather than getting coming away with an unexpected 0-0) that leads to teams coming second or third.

Fair enough.
Personally, I'll be amazed if Man U are within 10 points of Chelsea come May.

Personally I think they made a mistake with Carrick for that money, Hargreaves is more suited!

Hargreaves was a perfect Keane replacement and cheaper than the distinctly average Carrick.

Carrick is a superb player and will only get better at Man U. Hargreaves would be a perfect partner for him.

Nolan is rubbish. Barton is average.

It was the first part of that post that immediately put you in trouble.

Only semi serious, I'm more doing it more to wind the Carrick lovers up. He is better than average but Lampard, Gerrard, Hargreaves and Parker are all better central midfielders than him.

I would like to see Nolan and Barton get a chance at bigger clubs though.

I am in serious trouble, if I''m not careful I'm in REAL danger of being correct. :drink:

i agree with most of that but think Carrick is a better player than Parker...

his passing is not consistent enough...

I would say only in danger rather than real danger of being correct. Carrick is decent but massively overrated. I actually thought he was better when he first got in the West Ham team and he looked more like a Steven Gerrard type player. Now he plays some nice balls from his position infront of the back 4 but his tackling isn't great and he isn't very dynamic.
