How are these lot 3rd?!
Because Newcastle draw too many games, Spurs don't score if Kane doesn't score, Villa had given them too much of a head start by the time they got Emery in, and we had a bit of a wobble when we had to change managers mid-stream. Liverpool are a spent force this season. Chelsea have imploded.

There really is a big gap between the top two and the group jostling for the remaining European places, of which Manchester United currently happen to be just at the front. It will be interesting to see if they hold onto third until the end of the season.

You’re united and you’ve just played that game tonight. Your confidence is shot to bits.
You’re an Albion player and you’ve just watched the United game. Your belief is through the roof.
And then you remember it’s football and the game before means diddly.
I don't think it's a good result for us. Ten Hag will rip them a new one. They are sure to bounce back on Sunday.

Worst result for us you'd think. They'll be fired up now, really fired up. BUT they're dross. It's a miracle they're so high in the table.
Feeling really confident about Sunday because our intensity could totally blow them away- they're not suddenly going to become world beaters.

Only now seen the score; very funny and I'd be delighted if it wasn't for the fact that we're now the ones having to face the Europa League overlords with no objective left in their league and all of their focus on Europe.

United will still be dangerous on Sunday despite injuries because they'll feel they have to show a proud reaction to this elimination and it's also their only chance left at winning something notable this season. Interesting to see 4 Serie A teams among the semifinals of CL and EL (our super dominant league leaders not being among them) and only one Premier League team (City.)
Seems surreal to think that Italian clubs have reached those finals on three occasions in the last 15 years. One guaranteed this year.

United will be shorn of confidence after tonight's drubbing by Sevilla.

Just 67 hours after the final whistle to leave Spain, get home, recover, then travel to Wembley for Sunday's game.

Given how United played tonight and how we're playing at the moment, there's every reason for us to think we can win.

Happy to think we can win, but football is a funny old game as a very wise man who missed out on a World Cup winners medal often said on The Big Match in the 1980s

nice and leggy as well hopefully , if we hit them hard at the start we could be 2 or 3 up before we know it .

That was a poor match to watch, but others were not any better. I think we ought to dominate them in midfield? Depends who is fit to play for both sides.

When we go a goal up it will be easy to spot the ****s that got tickets as guests of season ticket holders.

Firstly football is football and we could lose. However, those suggesting Utd will be fired up for Sunday - surely that moment was before KO against Seville, 13th in the Spanish league (Spanish mid table is pretty tut), playing for a trophy and a miserable journey home. They won't be all smiles and sombreros as they push their trollies full of man bags through duty free. We're awesome at the moment and exactly where they look vulnerable. So fecking excited and it's so fecking doable! De Gea can have a blinder but will he stop everything, as we've had over 90 shots in the last 4 games. If you're not confident we can get a result out of this then you need a web therapy podcast on how to look forward to things. Come on people the glass is clearly more than half full and we don't have to sell Beenie tonight to see off the tax man tomorrow.

This is Clinton Morrison’s view:

“You still go to this game full of confidence and they were miles off it today. If they go to Brighton at the weekend like this then Brighton will do worse than Sevilla have done tonight.” BBC
If they go to Brighton this weekend someone has taken the wrong junction off the M25.

Cos of his little loan spell with us? He came through the ranks at Man U so is showing loyalty a bit there…! And doesn’t his son play for them too?

Tbh I didn't know either of those facts but doesn't get away from the reality that he's a knob

Absolutely this. Yes they could be up for it, yes Tent Peg can rip them a new one, but us, on our game will BATTER them and they'll soon cave in like they did last night. Right after the HT when Sevilla scored the second, their heads went down and all fight went out of them. And we're much better than Sevilla right now.

We play like we've done in at least our last 5 games vs (Chavs, Spuds, Muff, Brentford and Grimsby) and we'll beat them.

Sunday is another game. They'll be fired up for it after that performance. Roberto won't take last nights showing lightly, he'll have us on our game too. Most, if not all neutrals will want us to win however, the FA will want a city united final. Watch out for a few dodgy decisions go in their favour!

Yep, good point!

My stuck in the 90s idea of teams travelling by coach is often reinforced because I often see away team coaches at the Amex on my way back to the station. Of course, half the time they’re only going to Gatwick.

Still two days travel for them before our game.

We can certainly batter them but don't forget last night they were missing that rat Bruno Fernandes, who makes their midfield tick, and Rashford only came on as sub. They absolutely battered Forest on Saturday and everything came through Fernandes.

If we do our thing we could certainly have a great afternoon, but i wouldn't write them off completely. Not having the broken Maguire may genuinely help then out a lot
