I do the same sort of thing but I just cant be arsed to keep at it to make 1000+ a month burt it is more than possible but takes plenty of graft to get there!

At last. It is hard at first. Im slowly getting my head around it.

I get the odd free loyalty bet from bet365. Pretty sure you have to play any winnings through a few times with your own money before you can withdraw the proceeds tho.

You are only "getting your head round it", yet are showing regular 4-figure profits every month? Impressive. Just think how much you'll be clearing up once you understand what you are doing...

The site I use does a free trail, No card details needed, have a look. I promise you it works. so many people over look it and think its bollocks. use my link and I get commision(which does not effect the amount you pay)

OK, so getting more people in through your link is how you really make the money.

As with all such schemes, only a very few actually see a return on their cash.

I can confirm that the OP is telling the truth.

You CAN earn good amounts by MB - not the kind that the OP is suggesting, but a few hundred a month at a push (on average). The sites were much more lucrative a few years ago.

MB helped me save for my deposit a few years ago.

All no risk and minimal starting funds though?

Do you just mean standard bookies, pick and choose offers, be cheeky and ask in live chat for free bets etc..?

Right Here, Right Now
knew i would get some sort of comment like that. read up about it, a simple google search will show you. money saving expert has done a write up on it.
Going back to your question, matched betting is done by using free bets and bonus reloads to lay bets against each other, so you always get a profit. some months you can make more(like 2.5k in the world cup) as there was more offers. Trust me i was very agasint it at first, thinking its another bollocks scam. I use a website that talks you through it day by day, costs about £100 a year.

I deal with betting Arbitrages/traders on a daily bases. The betting industry will do what it can to discourage arbing and have the software in place to identify such people. So if you bet via Mobile, internet and even in store backing only the boosted offers, enhanced prices and free bets you will suddenly find the stakes at which you are able to place are reduced significantly. BTW if what you do really brings in those sums good luck, because you would probably need to ro it on a full time basis and I would not want to have to rely on a system that will eventually be taken away from me. Personally I like to see people succeed in gambling.

Yes. To be clear, I'm not disputing the theory, which is sound, but I'm struggling to see how £1-2k can be earned regularly and monthly with a relatively small pool of bookies to earn introductory offers from, even if you try and use slightly different names and cards to earn the bonus multiple times over.

Simply you back an event with a traditional fixed odds bookie and then lay at near-identical odds on Betfair. Rinse and repeat.

Unlikely. Good friend of mine is Head of Trading for a reasonably large bookmakers. Says it's pretty much impossible to make a living out of free bet only MB.

I agree. I think it's perfectly possible to make beer money - £50 a week or £50-£200 a month with them if you're disciplined though. You do need accounts with a lot of different bookies. I did it for a bit and made profit without doubt but closed most of mine completely as it got a bit too much. Now just have about 3 or 4 accounts. The bet365 risk free in play offer that was on here a lot over xmas is prob the best one for getting a shot at virtually risk free £s imo...

I know someone (friend of a friend) that arbs for part of his living. You can make money out of it but

(1) You will be banned or restricted by every online bookmaker under the sun before long
(2) It's a lot of effort and takes the fun out of gambling
(3) You need a lot of mates who are prepared to have thier identity used on your behalf if you want to make serious cash out of it

The OP is right that there is money to be made by arbing free bets (There are £600 up for grabs looking at Oddschecker today) but once that's done, life gets harder.

Personally, I think there are enough free tipsters who you can make a profit from following or understanding trading on betfair (although the super tax on that has taken some of the profitability out) if you want to make some money. Better that than spending your Saturdays punting and laying horses in a Betfred shop (Try it online, you will be banned in 4 clicks)

As time goes on and the number of bookies willing to take my (non-arbing) bets decreases steadily, I'm increasingly inclined to see arbers as vermin. Like rats, they serve no obviously useful purpose and they help to spread the disease of risk-aversion on the part of the layers. They also seem to think they have a divine right to get on as much as they like whenever they choose, just so that they can lay it back on Betfair for a tick or two less, and then squeal like nobody's business if anyone tries to stop them, or points out that it's spoiling things for everyone else.
And sadly, no matter how hard you try to stamp them out, you never will.
