Arundel Castle Ground a batsman's paradise. Sussex are lucky the likes of Graeme Smith and Pietersen aren't playing for the Brown Hats, otherwise you'd be looking at 500+ runs in a day.

Ahem, wrong thread?

Meanwhile we appear to be hitting fours, don't Joyce and Yardy realise that this sort of batting has no place in the County Championship? :nono:

Presumably we're 'following on' to avoid Surrey having the inconvenience of having to get their bats out of the bag; how many did we get in the 1st innings?

Inspector Linley snaffles Yootha.

As you would expect immediately after he cheekily hit another boundary.

Predictable stuff and as Prior is next up and only knows how to hit boundaries we are soon going to be 4 down.

Why have we no batsman who know how to graft a proper Championship Innings, say 10-15 runs a session?

The rowing boats on Swanbourne Lake would have been in severe danger of being peppered with cricket balls.

Everyone goes on about the Arundel ground being picturesque, but imagine the plaudits we'd get if we used the bowling green at Lewes Castle. That would be a lovely spot for a bit of T20. Anybody else ever had the same idea?

Our England Show Ponies now batting will no doubt pull and hook to flashy 30's and out when what we want is a Trott type GRIND.

Why do we never learn?

Wasn't the orginal Sussex ground in the middle of what was Lewes race course about 150 years ago, so not far off.
