Jordan 0/81, Goff 1/73. Great decision to bat by Joyce, not. We looking at 600+ here, uncomfortable hour before the close when I can see us losing 3 wickets.

Gareth Berg 39 off 24 balls. One-day stuff.

Now that we're into 9, 10, Jack I expect Berg to increase his scoring rate. He'll bag a ton by tea.

This lad Roland Toby-Jones can bat. I can see him feasting on our attack, Josh Buttler-style.

I've greatly enjoyed the well-informed Middlesex commentator and his observations about whether the declaration will come before 600 or not and that Simpson could have had a hundred "if he'd wanted to"...

England's Luke Wright is coping all right in the sunshine, bringing his IPL experience into play. Middlesbrough's Chris Liddle, on the other hand, is being carted by a tail-ender who's name sounds like something out of Grange Hill.

They've declared on 499/8 - why? One more run would've got them an 8th batting point. Lazy thinking Middlesex, lazy...

I think they are (rightly) confident that they can get us all out by close of play today, so they can either force the follow on tomorrow in the hotter conditions, or bat themselves if it is cooler. Brilliantly played sir, match winning decision.
