I can see why they took Beer out of the attack after lunch. We definetely don't want anyone taking wickets or keeping the run rate down.

Well done Gnasher ! London lbw Nash 18

I thought the only way we could get him out was by a Run Out because, after all, London's calling is crap.

212-3 at tea, as if the Middlesex batsmen need anything else to gorge themselves on this afternoon :nono:

Sussex won the toss and elected to field. Worst decision since JFK said 'It's a nice day, let's take the convertible'

Middlesex struggling to 301-3 (91 overs)

Chris Rogers 148* Neil Dexter 56*

Probably just as well Joyce didn't chose to bat.

Middlesex 320/3 (96 ov) at close of play.

I'm not entirely convinced that this tactic of playing for a draw by letting the opposition hit 800 runs in the first innings is going to work. But, hey! - it's better than the capitulation we were all expecting.

No idea why Sussex chose to bowl first. Very odd decision. Weather was perfect in London today and would have been an ideal day for batting. We're probably looking at a draw at best now when winning the toss could have allowed us to get into a strong position!

Like Geoff Boycott used to say, If you win the toss then bat. If you're tempted to bowl then think again.

I went to school with someone called Chris Rogers - suspect many of us did. Says it all, really does - get your flippin' act together boys. Prontissimo.

Bizarre decision to bowl first, thrown away any chance of victory now.

We won't win the championship by drawing every game, which we seem to be keen on doing at the moment.

Just hope we don't end up losing this, that would be ****ing annoying.

Well done lads, we've taken it to the second day. Almost like a victory.

Very much this. Remember we are playing MIDDLESEX not Portslade 3rd XI...

We took THREE wickets yesterday. We will be crushed in the end, naturally, but that is a decent effort to take the game to a second day.

We have a wicket. We have just over 3 overs to get 2 more to get a 2nd bowling point.
