Incredibly the First version was posted on Usenet only 5 minutes after the show had finished. I downloaded it last night.

Well excited as there hasn't been a new episode for about a month now.

Can i ask where you download them from?

Can I ask too?! I normally buy new episodes from ebay but you end up buying the complete season just to get any new episodes. I've got four sets of season two now!

You need to join Easynews or some such provider. Then download from alt.binaries.tv

Costs about £6 a month for 20GB downloads

thats exactly what I do. They are normally in DivX format so for ease I have a DivX playing DVD player so simple dump it onto a CD-r and play it. Nice

Normally if you don't want to pay for them they will appea ron torrent sites a little later but take much longer to download.

In the words of Alan Partridge - 'Thats just noise'.

Can you let me know how an idiot would do it?!

Go here :-

http://www.easynews.com/

Sign up and give them ~$10 . Log in. Go to the Search Screen. Search for Lost. Plough through the thousands of results. Find the ones you want. Select them and add them to a Zip File. Download the zip file. Unzip the zip file. Watch the episodes.

Takes a little bit of getting used to but easy once you know how. The thing to look for is the par file. Click on the Par Viewer link next to the par file and it will show you all the files you need to download. You can then select them all in one go. (An episode of lost is approx 3-400MB. This is zipped up and split into parts of anything from 1MB to 50MB. When you get all the files, use WinRar to put them back together again(Just extract Part 1) and you will get the complete avi file ready to play in Windows Media Player.

Sounds more complicated than it is. Takes a bit of playing around but they have good support and help files. Also, use their secure service. This uses an https address which is the same as online banking - ie everything is encrypted. They don't keep logs of what you download anyway but you never know when the Feds are watching. Whilst hardly fraud, downloading TV programmes is still technically illegal.

Be aware - there is LOTS and LOTS of porn in the newsgroups - even in groups which aren't porn groups. Someone I know found a child porn picture in an XBox Game group. Be very careful what you click on.

Newsgroups are probably the most secure way of getting files such as TV episodes, music, games etc. You can only download what people have uploaded in the last 30-40 days but that normally covers most things. I've used it for well over a year now with no problems - just be aware that there is undesirable stuff lurking in some corners.

Forgot to say that unlike Kazza, Limewire, BitTorrent etc, it will download at your Broadbands maximum speed. (You need a program like Reget for this - otherwise it seems to be about half). My 2MB connection downloads at approx 240kb/sec - whereas Bittorrents and the like tend to be much slower.

One of the guys at work is just downloading the 10th episode now. Looking forward to seeing that. Been ages since I saw ep 9.

Also, 24 series 5 kicks off this weekend in the US. 2 episodes on Sunday, 2 on Monday. That'll be another download for me to watch!!

Top man. Thanks.

However after reading that I've lost interest in Lost and I'm now more interested in all that porn you mentioned (but not the child stuff obviously)
