Thanks for saving this iconic collection.

I have spent many hours and many pounds in the Nelson and remember speaking to Graham after he gave up the Poets Corner. He said he got resistance from the locals a d couldn't make it work.
Coincidentally i was in the poets corner yesterday lunchtime. There were four people in the place. No sunday roasts . Ended up in the packed Connaught.

I believe Graham now has a pub in "West Sussex"

...will not be tinkering too much with its traditions.

scoffed at that, last time i went in there was no TV, candles on the tables faux moroccan ash trays in the garden, and iirc no flyer wall paper on the toilet doors. basically it wasnt the Nelson anymore, the only tradition kept was the Harveys.

Yes, the last time I went there, and it will be the last, some grunt behind the bar was too busy texting to pass the time of day, only five people in the bar. Went to new pub before wolves game where they talk to you, have Sky footy and play vinyl records!! There are some real pubs still out there.
