SUNNY SEAFORD
Hello, I go away for a few days and you start talking about Seaford. I love the place, nice pubs, great countryside, just enough shops and it's close to Eastbourne and Brighton. The seafront is unspoilt(unlike Brighton),the only thing that I dislike is the shortage of work in the town, but there always seems to be plenty of jobs in Newhaven which is only 15 minutes away on my bike.Oh, and there's free train travel to Withdean with your season ticket. If there's anything else you want to know just P.M. me.:drink:

Seaford? Is that the place where they hold a seance and try and contact the living?

Don't forget lads, one day you will (heaven forbid) be 60 or 70 or 80 or......
Then you might appreciate the charms of smaller towns although in Seaford we have loads of young families and lads and lassies who go out to...yes...pubs!!:drink:

Come to live in Eastbourne where the grass is greener and the sun always shines!

Talking of Eastbourne, on a negative note I was horrified today to see on my visit to the town for the day, more Chelsea/ Arsenal shirts than Albion shirts. Whats happening to Eastbourne, is it starting to lose its status as a Albion stronghold like it once was.

I worked in Eastbourne for 9 weeks when I was still with the agency.
Ned came over at lunchtime and we called into Specsavers to be served by a born and bred Eastbourner who supported P*l*ce

If you're drinking in the Gildredge no wonder you wanted to leave town ...:D

I must say Seaford has always seemed OK to me. A bit quiet maybe but some nice properties, some pleasant independent shops (not the same stuff you see everywhere else), seaside, plenty of pubs.

One of these days it will become trendy and we'll all wish we had invested in it!

Although it no longer has a cinema it does have two theatres, one of which has a comedy night once a month.:drink:

Seaford Where else!
I live in Seaford too! Lammy, agree abouth the Boot, i'm 6'4" and after a few coca-colas tend to forget how low the ceiling is! I moved here from London and thought it was dead to begin with....You fart and the towns talking about it the next day (Perhaps thats just my farts! ) - Been here 10 years now and for "30 somethings" its great. Loads of Local type Pubs, great walks and scenery. Not over-run with Twats or Chavs! Far enough from Brighton and Eastbourne to avoid the hustle and bustle, but close enough to nip in to the main towns if you want. Couple of great Infant schools and decent shops if you want to avoid Brighton/Eastbourne. We'll all have to have a Seaford NSC meeting! (Lammy last time i went into the Wellington 2 "Professors" were playing chess and the Open University theme was hammering out over the JukeBox - on a Friday Night!!!

I used to think Seaford was a completely dead place until a musician mate of mine fell on hard times and had to get a serious job. He found one teaching at Seaford Head School, moved into a town centre flat and, after a few months, pronounced the place to be a good base for single bloke in his late thirties to be living. He eventually got his act together and moved out to return to musicianing.

Interesting people and an interesting town. Apparently.

I know a few people who live there and enjoy the pub life - the Wellington seems to be well favoured.

As several people have said, there's easy access to some good countryside. And Brighton / Eastbourne are readily accessible.

Some estates (Fairways, for example) are full of retired ladies living in bungalows. Avoid them and go for somewhere within walking distance of the station, beach and town centre.
