Yes, because referees live in bubbles. They never ref more than one game, so never meet teams more than once, they never talk to each other, they have no interest in football and never watch games.

I'm not saying dicko likes to take a tumble. He is a tall lanky fella, and that leads to him being penalised for things that are no fouls, and being fouled and these not given, making the ref (and fans) think he's diving more than he does.

Refs talk to each other, they meet up for referee seminars etc. and discuss their matches, common complaints, how rules are being applied, and will use their own games as examples. Perhaps the fourth official worked one of our games before, or the linesmen, etc.

This isn't a new theory I'm coming up with. It's pretty common.
