Hopefully they'll be next season's Aston Villa but without a genuine star player when Ben White returns to his rightful club.
They'll be so wound up waiting to play their 'rivals' Man Utd and then get thumped at Old Trafford. I can't wait to see reality kick in.
I too hope that they get a difficult start. I hope we avoid them for the first six games or so playing them when their initial optimism and energy has worn off a bit.

To be honest, congratulations to them and everything..........

But I am completely sick of hearing about them. Their reporter in The Athletic (?Phil Hay), just gets on my nerves, with literally no objectivity......

The BBC sport love in - ridiculous.
Sky Sports - ridiculous.

I don’t recall Villa or even Wolves getting this much adulation.....

I hope Bielsa walks and they go down.....

Watching random streams on Youtube and they pop up in the chat. It is like they are the first team to ever get promotion. Still, good news for local sanitary ware suppliers as they will be repairing away end toilets all season.

Bielsa an interesting chap, he will leave if there's not a full commitment to his wants. Also while some of his ex-players, now managers/coaches say how good he was he hasn't really won much of note.

Looking at his records, he’s not exactly set the world alight. In his only season in a top flight with Lille, he didn’t do much better than Potter has. And let’s be honest, Lille would expect to do better than winning one in five. I’m not sure what happened at Lazio, looks like he signed for them but didn’t ever manage a professional game.

I’m assuming that if he tries to play how they did in the Champ but struggle (a la Norwich), then he’s going to get frustrated at losing a lot, and potentially chuck his toys out. We’ll see. I actually don’t mind if they stay up tbh, but I don’t think I could handle the Leeds fans if they do a Wolves / Sheff Utd.

You can’t see Leeds doing a Wolves. They have a very special recruitment set up and were more than prepared to bring in quality good enough to compete in the Prem.

I guess it is possible they could do a Sheff Utd. Specialist manager, well drilled.

But these are the exceptions. History shows that every promoted side faces a massive battle in their first season in the PL. Both Fulham and Villa hoped to avoid this via big spending, and that didn’t work.

Look at us, we were flying under Hughton at times in the Championship, scoring goals for fun. But a very different story when we were promoted.

So the odds are ridiculously in favour of Leeds being in a relegation scrap next season. No shame in that, but the delusion on show by the fans and even the owners up there means they could have a very rude awakening come end of the year.

It is very reminiscent of Villa.

He has around 3 and a half seasons experience in top flight European football (2 in spain and 1.5 in France)

He quit Lazio after 2 days as he wasn't happy with the transfer budget and felt he wouldn't get the support required to bring in the players he wanted.

He has also managed Athletic Bilbao to the Europa League final and Copa Del Rey final, although their league position went backwards under him and he wasn't offered a new contract after 2 seasons. He managed Marseille to 4th in Ligue 1 in his only season in charge of them, he quit a day after the 15-16 season started (it would be hilarious if he did this at Leeds).

He's also won 3 titles in Argentina early on in his managerial career (the first nearly 30 years ago) and an Olympic Gold, but it's not like he's been consistently winning things his entire career.

Here’s my scenario, we go up to Elland Road. We’re now MUCH more savvy in the Prem, and are capable of getting away wins.

We Potterball them to death, Mr Ben White scores to give us the 3pts but doesn’t celebrate. We help send Leeds down.

Singing “Ben White he’s one of our own”.

That would be a very nice day.

Accepting that there is a large degree of arrogance from Leeds fans that will be rubbing fans the wrong way, and years of said arrogance when they've continued to fail to get out of the second tier, I do wonder if there is an element of jealousy. Not of the team or the their achievements, but the attitude. We come up and we're all "why thank you, Mr Big-Six, it's a real honour to be here, thank you for letting us play with your toys, here have lots of of points and goals, we don't want to upset you, we just want to do enough to stay here if we can, and maybe after a few of years paying our dues, we'll start looking to move up a bit, not too far! Don't worry, Mr Big-Six, sir! We're not after your places, but it would be really good if we could maybe think about challenging to finish in the top half of the table. Maybe 10th? If that's ok? Don't worry, we'll still rollover for you, because we have no illusions that you are better than us and we have no chance" and we're watching Leeds come up with a "F you, we're not here to make up the numbers, we're not here just to survive, we want to go for it, this is football, and yeah, maybe your players are better on paper, but anything can happen on the pitch"

Leeds fans are basing that attitude on the fact that 'they are the champions, champions of Europe'. They KNOW that they are by far the biggest and most important club in the World. They are incredibly arrogant in their belief that they are going to be so much better than the sum of their parts - I don't think they have got the first idea of the gulf in class between the PL and the Championship.

I am not jealous of their attitude in the slightest. I find it laughable. And I will be laughing even louder when reality hits.

Sounds like Villa mark 2 to me.

Without doubt the best fans witnessed at The Amex. Leeds are truly a huge club, huge following but they have a huge ego. They may do well in The Premier league but more likely reality will hit home and they will be down to our level as fellow strugglers. We shall see but I think they will need to recruit heavily to even survive but even that may not stop them having a Villa type of introduction.

Always reminded of the story a member of the club hierarchy retold.

Leeds fans got off the train at Falmer and stood there.
High-vis stared at them - they stared at high-vis.
Finally high-vis walked up and asked if they could help.

"No, we're just waiting for our police escort"
"What police escort?"
"We always have a police escort".
"Well not today, the stadium is over there have a nice day"
"Oh ok, we'll go over there then...

...on our own".
