It's the same mentality of those who have to get in the front of the queue to get on an easy jet flight.

I thought the reason for being at the front of an easyjet flight queue was to get a seat that didn't reek of body odour and piss. :lolol:

Get a f***ing grip you lot. 99% of the people who leave their seats watch injury time on the running track. It's actually more enjoyable down there at the end and when we scored on saturday it went ballistic.

If your day is ruined by having to let someone past you at the end or at half time because they need a piss or want to be at the front of the chip queue then you need to get a life.

I've payed for my ticket, if I want to leave 5 minutes into the game just for the hell of it I can, because supporting the Albion is something I do for my own enjoyment, it's not prison or a concentration camp.

Ease off chap. Leaving early is, of course your perogative and none of my business, however, I personally find it strange why people leave early in a game like yesterday.

From my perspective I get really hacked off when I'm trying to watch the dying embers of a frantic and frenetic game and I can't see it because everyone is swarming around me leaving the stands.

There's also a guy who gets to every game 5/10 mins late, goes to half time 5/10 minutes early and then comes back late only to leave early again EVERY GAME!

I personally do not like leaving early, but yesterday my 8 year old lad was "bursting" for the toilet for the last 15 minutes, and with 5 minutes to go we had to pay a visit.

Managed to get back to the running track to see the last minute, with him on my shoulders. Amazed he wasn't thrown on the pitch such was the (my) celebtration!

I was going to post this. I have absolutely no idea why anyone would ever leave early in any game, but yesterday, with the score 1-1 and pressing for the winner to send us top of the league for the first time in a few years, why oh why would anyone be leaving even before the extra minute board gets shown.

I'm with you all the way on this one.

There is not one single good reason to leave a game early ... or leave your seat before before half time to feed your face.

The game is only 90 mins for fecks sake.

To those who missed the winning goal on Saturday .... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I can think of at least three: because the last train back to London leaves ridiculously early or because there's an important event to attend that evening or because your child's been taken ill and rushed to hospital.

I've only left early three times in my life (for the first two reasons) and my father left early once for the last reason. I'm sure there are other valid reasons but those three spring to mind.

The reason why most people leave is because of the bottle neck effect of leaving a ground with only 1 exit, as said before on this thread most other teams have several exits we have 1 from the south stand and that is all, so if you are sitting in one of the end blocks then it takes foever to get out. the club only lays on about 4/ 5 buses before it goes back to so called normal service, so getting out early can in fact get me home up to half an hour earlier, and i live in central brighton.
get used to it people it'll be worse as the weather gets worse.

23.06 from Preston Park, thats a lot of injury time:ohmy:

Not from Withdean, you bozo, from oop North, coming back to Brighton.

I do think people are being rather harsh on people leaving early. Most people have lives outside the Albion - family events to get to; theatre or concert tickets that evening; a hot date etc. It would be nice if the whole world was Albion focused, but it's not, so trains aren't well timetabled, engineering works mean journeys take 45 minutes more, stations are shut; there are roadworks on the way out etc

I'd say that 90% of the time, I don't really care what time I get out of a game but about 9.5% of the time, I want to make a sharp get away, so watch the match standing up on the concourse or running track and the other 0.5% have to leave a game a few minutes early. I suspect that would describe many football supporters TBH

Oh sorry I thought the thread was entirely based on the inconvenience caused to others by those who leave Withdean early. Restricting views etc.

Although I must say I was a culprit when I arrived late on Saturday, after my Market Rasen calamity

Indeed. There's no law saying you have to stay to the end, in fact on Saturday, judging by the published attendance when compared to the amount of tickets apparently sold, quite a few people didn't even bother turning up! I say 'didn't bother' but I'm guessing they all had valid reasons for not attending.

My sole point, (and it's not a criticism), is that given you haven't got a pressing family reason who on earth would want to have left early on Saturday? (not talking about standing on the running track). Are people really that worried about getting home for their tea? Diff'rent Strokes and all that, but as I mentioned earlier I find the whole "I leave five minutes before the end regardless of the state of the match because I can get home quicker" a trifle odd. Not wrong, bad, indefensible, etc, - just odd.
