Garth Crookes & Chris Waddle are cut from the same cloth. I just struggle to comprehend which one is the bigger clown. Both are clueless

Warren Barton on Fox Soccer - completely incompetent and a walking advert for tanning beds

Mark Lawrenson, I know, but he doesn't half talk some shit during a game.

Mark Bright. And that blonde woman with the annoying voice that hosts late kick off. She gets on my tits.

The best pundit I've seen recently is Harry Redknapp when he did punditry work for the euros. He was honest and actually had some common sense. Pat Nevin is also a very good pundit IMO. Kammy also deserves a mention for his good work.

chiles is a presenter surely? he's shit at that regardless

hansen, lawrenson and shearer are absolutely awful...can't believe my license fee funds that shit. They do absolutely no research whatsoever, say the complete obvious every single time and are boring as anything. Their ineptitude is particularly evident during major tournaments. They show complete ignorance about any player who plays outside of england (or at most plays for barcelona/real madrid) and get completely shown up by any foreign pundits they draft in.

itv is generally better than the BBC in my view (adverts aside, but thats more a production thing). Keane is always a laugh due to the fact that he often disagrees with everyone else just for the sake of it (I always half expect them to cut to the studio too early, to see keane with chiles in a head lock with southgate crying in the corner with a nose bleed)....southgate is quite dull but he seems to know the game reasonably well....dixon was wasted on BBC and is better than anything they have over there. However Townsend is pretty shit so they are lacking a good co-commentator

I don't have sky but when I can catch a game Gary Neville seems lightyears ahead of anyone else. If i was with BBC i'd sack those aged dinosaurs and get G-Nev in asap.

It's not a BBC thing, as their pundits for other sports are really good (the olympics made this evident to me)...can;t work out why they employ so much utter dross for their football coverage. Are interesting football pundits so hard to find?

as much as i find him irritating...you're right. I remember during Euro 2012 everyone was ******* off about how amazing the Dutch were going to be, and how they were an absolute shoe-in for the final. Redknapp however went completely against the grain and said they would be very lucky to make it past the first round....lo and behold they were complete turd

Mark Lawrenson is not funny and I hate his voice
Andy Townsend, merely an idiot

but the winner is Alan Green ........... dreadful, simply dreadful

.....oh, this is simply ridiculous, I'll make comments about something of no great importance ......... oh.... they've shaken hands have they .... well I guess that makes it OK does it .... this great game of ours has been hauled over the coals in recent months and a few flags makes it OK, I don't know. My tea's cold. I don't know about you but this is not what I would call a spectacle

I really do not like Alan Green's work

on a positive note I think Gary Neville is alright

Obviously the pace of cricket lends itself to a less frantic commentary/ punditry, but it's generally a class above as a broadcaster's medium

..should there be a comma before the "but"?

Garth Crooks can't stand the man. Tries to come across as articulate and intelligent just makes himself look like a complete muppet. For example:

Alan Shearer he just lacks any knowledge on the modern game. The man is as thick as pig shit. His comments on Hatem Ben Arfa a few seasons ago demonstrate this. I mean he is a Newcastle fan and didn't even bother to research or learn anything about the player they had just signed.

Steve Claridge - clueless and partisan. Evidently has favourite teams and is hyper-critical of teams he dislikes.
Roy Keane - Egomaniac and bully. Comes across as a deeply unpleasant know it all... Like to see him put his money where his mouth is and actually manage a team to success.
Adrian Chiles - West Brom, blah blah blah.. Bore off!
Clive Tyldesley & Andy Townsend - ITV's answer to Mogadon - utterly clueless and repetitive, the worst of the lot.

Gary Neville is good. Virtually everyone else is terrible. There are so many ex footballers to choose from, I don't understand why they're all so bad at it.
