I wouldn’t normally do this (quote myself), and I appreciate it adds no extra “credibility” - but I’ve just had an identical story told to me by somebody else attached to the club. No question.I like to think I have some credibility in the bank here - not a lot - but some. I can share a little on the training ground incident. This is from a club source, who I obviously can’t name, so you can either believe me or not.
Trossard was taking the piss in the training immediately after coming back from the WC. He was late and grumpy, deliberately losing sprints, doing stupid tricks and pretending to fall over during scrimmage sessions - just stupid stuff like that. Despite being told repeatedly by several coaches to focus and train professionally, he basically refused to communicate with the coaches in question. RDZ was watching all this and had a word with a “senior player” (my common sense guess would be Lallana or Dunk, but that is a guess as I say). He basically had a quiet word, Trossard told him to do one, which led to a little pushy-shovey. Trossard then pulled up minutes later with a “calf problem” and went to the treatment room.
As I understand it, this was all one incident. He then basically just left.
That was the first incident.
He was told he needed to come back for training/treatment the next day and didn’t want to until he got an apology from the senior player. He turned up late, didn’t get his apology, RDZ basically told him to man up and stop acting unprofessionally and he just outright left.
RDZ told him to report to the U23s for training and he didn’t.
Can also confirm he has now left the country without permission and the club have no idea where he is, although he appears to have gone to his home in Belgium.
"hubris" . . . l'm reaching for my dictionary. Not really, I felt (as you know) the only thing transferred was cold calculated ambition and cold cash... ill news is an ill guest, I’m delighted any nous that did get caught up in the hubris seemingly decided to stay put on the south coast.
My gut feeling is he, or more likely his agent, thought his route to a big club, and a big pay packet, was a good World Cup and a subsequent transfer. You need to be fully committed to the cause with RDZ. There’s just no hiding. 110% power play. The players are wired up so stats galore to show up lapses in effort. I wonder if part of recent events is Trossard knowing he’s not up to this more aggressive style of play, will be found out and wants out.

Good post. I would have given you a thumbs up if it wasn't for your American spelling of "favorite"!My gut feeling is he, or more likely his agent, thought his route to a big club, and a big pay packet, was a good World Cup and a subsequent transfer.
This was all likely a few months ago when he was one of our key players, he was central to much of what we did on the pitch and he was playing for Belgium…a favorite.
Post Qatar the landscape, and his situation, for many reasons is very different. He isn’t a player in demand at his own club let alone the big 6. I can understand him being disappointed and frustrated that his status and big dream has collapsed around his ears but his agent and himself are handling it appallingly.
Come back when you’ve finished sulking.
Isn’t Hubris the capital of Guadeloupe??"hubris" . . . l'm reaching for my dictionary.
Ha ha. I blame Apple and predictive text.Good post. I would have given you a thumbs up if it wasn't for your American spelling of "favorite"!
I don’t know what triggered this behaviour. Push for big club, feeling not fitting in with RDZ. If I recall, his body language declined pre WC and did worry for his mental health. Poor response from Trossard post WC. It’s going to need a 360 degree turnaround in his attitude if we’re going to see him in a blue shirt again. Can’t see that happening. A shame but football moves on quickly as we know from Potter.I wouldn’t normally do this (quote myself), and I appreciate it adds no extra “credibility” - but I’ve just had an identical story told to me by somebody else attached to the club. I reckon a 180° turn would be better. If he goes 360°, don’t we just end up with the same sulking midfielder?I don’t know what triggered this behaviour. They come they go, it was good while it lasted but we had a club before him and will after.I don’t know what triggered this behaviour. Push for big club, feeling not fitting in with RDZ. All of the above. They come they go, it was good while it lasted but we had a club before him and will after.
I wish him luck in his push for big club, regardless of his Modus Operandi, personally I would think anyone in the perceived top 7 wouldn’t see him as ‘upgrading‘, injury list or not can’t see GP going near him after how it’s panning out with Cucurella at the Bridge, I’m sure the senior players are still in touch with Dan Burn so Eddie Howe will probably get the full SP as to what’s gone on.
Liverpool, City, Arsenal or United? Unlikely.
Tottenham maybe, as a punt, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him not going till the summer after nearly 6 months out in the cold, which puts his stock down further, so it’s an apology or training with the kids till the end of May, all power to RDZ for putting this marker down.
Do you not like USG then? All of the above.
Activate the extra year and loan him to USG.
But he wouldn't get much game time at Spurs. He'll be up against Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Richarlison, Gil, Moura and Perisic, so there'd be plenty of bench warming,Tottenham maybe, as a punt,

It's reported we did activate it.All of the above.

Which is just too weird to comprehend - of course we activated it, there was never going to be a chance we wouldn't (unless he got a long term injury) and if he and his agent thought we might not then they're ****ing idiots. It's reported we did activate it.
Thus the behaviour I'd suggest.
