Weird. As I get to this post the song starts on the CD player. Put it on earlier with no idea this thread was here.

These lyrics are LCD's best moment IMO. Incredibly poignant.

Whilst I have always thought his music is incredible, this thread really rams home what a superb lyricist he is.

In a nut shell, LCD was just James Murphy but he got a band together to tour his albums and the band grew into this huge thing which he had not envisaged. So he called it a day. But, for more detail see the Shut Up And Play The Hits documentary as he explains why at such a late point in life he decided to start making music and then call it a day. It's a fascinating doc.

Yes it is, it has a permanent place on my mp3 listening device.

For me LCD are a bit marmite, when they're good they're very good, but there's a bit too much bland sprinkled in amongst the good to give their albums longevity. For me anyway, the hype surrounding them is somewhat disproportionate to the sum of their total parts.
