its all there in black and white. good work fella, and you're right. things look very good

anyone care to work out the mathematical probability of us getting automatic promotion if these trends continue?

If all teams play as well over the remaining games as they have in the last six, the top of the table will finish up looking like this:-

1 Plymouth 46 90
2 QPR 46 85
3 Brighton 46 79
4 Bristol C 46 75
5 Swindon 46 75
6 Bournemouth 46 75
7 Luton 46 71

The good news is that we might only need 71 points to make the playoffs. That's just 5 points from our last 6 games - we can be as bad as a team that finishes in the bottom four - and still get to Cardiff.

The bad news is that even if we win all six remaining games, we'll end up with 84 points - only enough for third place.

I do think that in the unlikely event of us winning ALL our remaining games, the chance of us finishing second is still only about 50/50.

Assuming we did end up on 84 points, QPR would need 13 from 7 games (4 away).

A Tranmere
H Grimsby Town
A Barnsley
H Stockport
A Plymouth
H Swindon
A Sheff Wed

So that's 6 points from two home bankers. Would they find 7 points from their other 5 games? I think they would.

For for the dream to be realised, and looking at QPR's fixture list, we could do with Plymouth blowing up and Swindon either blowing up or staying on our coat-tails until the end of the season. We could do with both clubs having something to play for by the time they play QPR...

Looking at that form guide and games to play, my optimism at making 2nd place has gone. Bristol City may be catchable but QPR would have to F**k up royally and I just can't see them dropping enough points even if we collect the full 18

QPR

Tranmere A
Grimsby Town H
Barnsley A
Stockport H
Plymouth A
Swindon Town H
Sheffield Wed A

BHA

Blackpool A
Rushden H
Peterborough H
Bristol City A
Notts County H
Wrexham A

Bristol City

Swindon A
Plymouth H
Luton A
BHA H
Barnsley A
Blackpool H

Lets see what happens after the easter weekend. If we take all six points and QPR and bristol both slip up the table could be a lot different come next tuesday.

The best we can hope for is being 2 points behind QPR and 1 ahead of B City. But that assumes QPR lose at Tranmere and Barnsley and B City lose both their 6 pointers.

There is no way QPR won't beat Grimsby at home.

Not forgetting of course that if we finish 3pts (or less) from 2nd spot then I get a :drink:

Tranmere is a free game for QPR as they've played a game less than us anyway. That's being played tomorrow so come the w/e even if they lose that they would be 5 points (plus much better goal difference) which really makes it 6. If they win it it will make 9. There is no way that we will make 9 points on them so they'd better lose tomorrow before we start working out this w/e's possibilities ???

A 4-0 drubbing by Tranmere would be nice :)

I am i missing something, didn't we get beat by Sheff Wed last week? The table shows we have not lost in the last six.

A wee damper is that Sherrined's form guide was BEFORE our defeat at Wednesday, which skews any predictions ... but still think we have a chance of an automatic spot. My HOPEFUL predictions:

QPR
Tranmere A X
Grimsby Town H W
Barnsley A X
Stockport H W
Plymouth A L
Swindon Town H X
Sheffield Wed A X 10 POINTS

BHA
Blackpool A W
Rushden H W
Peterborough H W
Bristol City A X
Notts County H W
Wrexham A W 16 POINTS

Bristol City
Swindon A X
Plymouth H X
Luton A W
BHA H X
Barnsley A X
Blackpool H W 10 POINTS

I can't help thinking that QPR's game tomorrow night will determine everything. Ian Holloway looked pi$$ed off and nervous after their crap performance v Brizzle Shitty. If QPR manage to lose again tomorrow, they will be REALLY on a knife edge next Sat - and that game is against Grimsby who are fighting for their life. However, if they win, that will settle them down and give them loads of confidence for Saturday. With BCFC having Swindon away on Sat, QPR could (if things go their way) easily be 6 points clear by Saturday evening, and perhaps ten points ahead of us.
