Seeing as it is exposing the untruths and twisting of the truth practiced by the right wing parties and their acolytes in the press, it’s hardly surprising that only one of two left leaning publications left in this country is prepared to publish.
I don’t think you’d ever read it in the MSM.
Unless they could find a way to blame the Government, obviously.

Starmer’s opposition to this inquiry was always his fear of what it might uncover. That is, Labour MPs, Labour councillors & local “community” leaders being complicit in the cover up. Also the effect this inquiry might have on the Labour Muslim vote, critical in at least 30 seats. The Casey report has meant he can no longer hide. The report must get to the bottom of how the fear of racism and racial tensions prevented the proper criminal investigations into these terrible events. The heads of all the guilty must roll.

I've no idea. First time I've read anything from it. It's a carefully reasoned analysis that draws on a few recent examples to explain and exemplify the wider argument. Through history, those leaning to the right have been very capable of fulfilling that description.
And why do you think the Tories never started one? Such things would have been gold ahead of an election they looked unlikely to compete in, wouldn't they?

Turning to the findings of the most recent report - led by Baroness Louise Casey - Cooper says they are damning.
Casey has found a "deep-rooted failure to treat children as children" and to protect children and teenage girls from rape and "scars that last a lifetime".
There have been deep-rooted institutional failures "stretching back decades", Cooper says. Even good, but misdirected intentions, played a part in this collective failure, she adds.
Cooper then says that in some of the data, there had been an over-representation of suspects of Asian heritage.
Officials often avoided the topic for fear of being labelled racist, Cooper says.

- The report also recommends a national police operation and national inquiry, and reviewing the criminal convictions of victims of child sexual exploitation and quashing any convictions where the government finds victims were criminalised instead of protected

That said, the treasury minister was appallingly prepared here. She'll be out of a job in the next cabinet reshuffle if they've got any sense.

Does anyone else have an uncomfortable feeling that the grooming inquiry has been greenlit ahead of a major story set to break soon?
It could just be part of Labour’s strategy of taking on Reform after their terrible election performance, along with the WFA u-turn.
But something is telling me there might be another trial or something either ongoing or about to start, and by getting in now it would help soften some of the inevitable outcry.
I could be wrong, just a hunch.

Firstly, my apologies to you - you didn't name Diane Abbott. But it is poor on chicken run's part.
Secondly, I don't need to explain Reynolds' effort here - I totally agree with you, as I believe I said. That is an absolutely shambolic appearance and she should lose her job if she can't even prepare properly.

Yes, but here’s the thing: I don’t know if you personally said this, but a LOT of Labour supporters on here were saying an Inquiry would be a waste of money, time, etc. They were quite adamant in parroting the party line.
Now the party line has changed, suddenly it’s all supporting of the inquiry.
It goes to show what a mess people get themselves into supporting their party, when they party keeps changing policy.
Same for WFA. Every pensioner is a secret millionaire, they don’t need it etc. oh wait, they’ve reversed the decision - what I meant was it needed tightening up, but lots do need it as I always said.
Ridiculous.
