I love watching KP bat, and I enjoyed watching him bowl when I was at Headingley last Monday.

But he is obviously a complicated character, and must be bloody hard to manage in the dressing room.

And then he does this interview this weekend - through his management company, and contrary to the ECB publicity machine - in which he appears to be trying hard to mend the fences.

So what does the NSC cricket fraternity make of KP?

Shame as he is a brilliant batsman and one of the main reasons why we are now so dominant in world cricket

There is no mending fences in that interview. It is all about him - he is trying to build up his brand for after his England career is over. Nothing else.

"There has been loads of speculation in the last few days". No there hasn't - everyone has been watching the Olympics.
"I need to build towards the team and they need to build towards me" - no they don't. You play for the team KP and they will automatically play for you.
"The IPL is a great academy of cricket" - no it isn't - it is a cash earning circus.
"I want to play for England in all forms of cricket" - so do I, but they don't want me and they may not want you.
"I can phone up Raoul Dravid and ask his advice because of the IPL" - rubbish. Cricketers all over the world asked advice of each other long before the IPL came along.
"I had a long chat to an England colleague and came away a happy man" - were they happy too? Is your team happy with you? Do you care?

Some of these quotes above may not be word perfect but you get the gist.

That is about as convincing a video as the Tiger Woods apology.

I voted liability, but in truth he is both a liability and irreplacible. This has been a needless sideshow which has no doubt caused team morale problems in a summer where we are now likely to lose our number one status. Only one winner in this - the ECB. Well done for not backing down to this mercenary.

I've never been KP's biggest fan, though on his day he is a wonderful cricketer and there are few sights in cricket better than seeing him in full flow.

I actually feel he's been treated pretty harshly here. His tag as being a drssing room nightmare goes back to the Peter Moores fiasco. At the time I thought he was totally out of order, though history may treat it a bit differently. Without doubt Flower is a better coach than Moores.

I think this is similar. The IPL is going nowhere and I think there is an element of jealousy from the ECB that the IPL is the richest and most marketable 20/20 competition in the world. Personally I think the ECB are being unneccessarily obstructive here, surely they could move international cricket out of May, especially if we end up playing against weakened sides? I very much doubt Pietersen is the only player in the England dressing room who wants to play a larger part in the IPL and the riches that come with that. I think he is being castigated for attempting to address the obvious elephant in the room.

The ECB obviously reads NSC, took notice of the poll, and have now dropped KP for the Third Test !

Trouble is he thinks it is.

I'm not usually one to comment on Pietersen and the nationality thing, but the oily twat really should f*** off back to South Africa and play for his rightful country. I've never take him seriously in an England shirt, and by the sounds of his texts to South African 'colleagues' neither does he.

:)

After what we have witnessed over the last two weeks....unbelievable sport...pain, hurt ,total joy ,tears....incredible competition.. and then this prima donna . Dont care...get rid. No one is bigger than the sport they represent .
I think this Olympics has woken a lot of people up......sadly not KP . His timing couldnt be worse !

torn on this...i think at times he can be a bit of a cock who thinks the england team revolve around him.
and just to contradict myself, i actually think we'll be a poorer team without him in the side....at the moment. whether we can find another batsman with the destructive qualities he possesses remains to be seen

Slagged off his captain to the opposition in texts sent. Makes him untenable.

Arry used to talk about Paolo di Canio using a trouble/ talent ratio. It speaks volumes that whilst KP is the best batter we have the trouble he brings just isn't worth it.

Dressing room were looking at Flower and Strauss to see if KP would be given special treatment.

KP loser in the long run. English cricket will move on.

We might be a poorer team..but he's a loose cannon and you cant have that in the dressing room ,or now knowing that he has been slagging his own team mates off to the opposition. He did the same when he lost the England captaincy , and got a reprieve. HE cant keep doing it, and then post on YouTube that he is ready to play full time for us. He knows the rules.....you go through the ECB.. I think he's one slice short of a sandwich !

Arrogant twat.
What a contrast to most of the Olympic athletes we have enjoyed watching over the last two weeks.
