While we are currently linked with every available striker and midfielder does it worry anyone that we have not bought in a replacement keeper and centre half.

We need a 2nd choice keeper and while Greer and El Abd are fine there are question marks over Elphick and Dunk while one for the future IMO would benefit from a loan spell and regular first team football.

Do we need cover ion these positions?

Right off to a Beer Festival, I look forward to your replies in the morning.

We have a South American manager what do you expect-we will have no problems though Gus is very particular and likes clean sheets.

How many goalies do we need? We have three in the first team squad, not to mention the development players. I'm sure that a goalie is the last thing on Gus's shopping list

We have a second, and third choice goalkeeper that the club are happy with.

Not so sure it is just a cover we need for the GK position - I seriously think that a Number 1 ought to be Gus' priority

I imagine we'll sign a bloody good centre back, in addition to a defender who can cover most positions.

Unless an amazing opportunity comes up on the GK front we will not sign one - much like Casper last season. I don't think we need one.

You have to remember that LUFC didn't think he was up to Championship standard.

Spurs have signed Brad Friedel to compete with Gomez for the No 1 spot so would suggest that if Gus thinks we need a keeper on loan at some point he will ask about Cudicini.

Didn't they? Or was it a case of having a keeper they felt was better or equally as good, but since Casper's contract expired it was a cost saving thing? Or a personality clash? Or a general idea of it simply being the other keeper's time and they wanted to persevere with a younger squad? Maybe he wasn't suited to the Leeds style, and in our passing from the back style he is much better for the team than he ever was for leeds?

I agree we need a new goalkeeper who can deal with crosses.

Premiership clubs have a history of loaning out good young goalkeepers who need experience; e.g. Hart, Foster and Carson to name three. Currently Man Utd have a couple of goalkeers who need to go out on loan to gain experience. Even Newcastle who are a selling club at the moment have four goalkeepers better than ours. Ankergren is good and better than average, and he will get by in The Championship, but if we want to get into The Premiersip, we will have to upgrade.

Interesting to note that Leeds have now released the keeper Casper took over from due to injury and was then replaced by, Shane Higgs. I think that he will be ok in The Championship but am worried if he is suspended or injured with Brezovan or Poke coming in as neither are good enough IMHO.

So - LUFC didn't even think he was worth retaining as a second string ?

They had Shane Higgs and Kasper Schmeichel. Caspers contract expired and they decided he was not needed. Several of my Leeds supporting friends and colleagues really disagreed with this decision.
