Just to add another 2 p.

The Opera scene I recall was stunning, a clever play on the unravelling drama.

But again, I could hardly hear a clear bloody word. NThe dialogue appeared mumbled, now I know I have good hearing, did any one else suffer similar problems

Actually just found this

James Bond: Quantum of Solace exclusive clip -

I can hear the dialogue a lot better now!!

Saw it last night and thought it was excellent. As good as and in some respects better than CR. His character is spot on in this one and the action and lack of pontificating did the story and character justice, a desperate, brutal bloke going at full throttle to acheive his goal.

I liked that he kept f***ing up and the frustration of how he kept getting close to Greene and kept losing him.

The car chase at the start was excellent - brutal and no slow mo or lingering shots.

It may be just another action flick to some people but I think it needed to be relentless and the action needed to be at that pace. Those hand to hand fight scenes were top notch.

Loved it 9/10

I thought it was terrible. Very poor storyline which was confusing and hard to follow, not even the slightest hint of any wit/comic relief, the theme tune made me want to curl up and die, lead villain was weak and why did they put the gun barrel sequence at the frigging end!? And WTF are rape scenes in a Bond film all about? Talk about messing with a winning formula. And above all, I just don't buy Craig as Bond. He is minging.

The third worst Bond film IMO behind DAD and AVTAK. Very disappointing.

It was very pretty, but one of the stupidest films i've ever seen. I don't much care for Craig as Bond anyway but the film lacked any cohesion, you didn't really know what he was doing, what anyone else seemed to be doing. They've increased the nastiness and seriousness but without it being reflected in a better quality of script or what happens in the rest of the film

I agree with most people here. It had some great action sequences near the beginning but it never built up to the big finale I was hoping for. I know they were accused of making Bond a bit to cheesy before but they have gone too far the other way now. IMHO a Bond film needs a couple of cheesy one-liners and some ludicrous gadgets (although I draw the line at the invisble car in Die Another Day!)

Even at the end I didn't really get the storyline, can someone explain it? Or is it simply because there wasn't one.

Casino Royale I watched twice at the cinema and I watch the DVD quite regularly. QoS, I'm not even sure I'll be getting the DVD when it's £5 in the HMV sale.

Vesper was sucked in by her boyfriend at the time (the canadian secret service agent at the end of QofS was essentially a prospective new vesper). During CR she was led to believe that he was being held hostage in exchange for the money and the dude with the evil eye.

The boyfriend was part of Quantam.

After Mr White escaped they found a trace to Mr Greene over in Jamaica and eventually discover that Quantam have a plan to corner all the water in Bolivia?? and so charge more money for it. In the process they discover lots of the other members of Quantam.

I'm guessing that the future Bond films will centre on other members of Quantam, most interesingly the one that was a close personal adviser of the UK PM.

LOVED it. Especially the Opera bit. The chases were great. DC looks more comfortable in the role now. Olga Whatever was HOT AS BALLS.

8 or 9 IMO.

I saw it last night and enjoyed it. Not as much as Casino Royale but still an excellent bond film. Think Daniel Craig is excellent in the role and it seems many are forgetting that the character is a new agent, ie they started from scratch in CR with Craig just becoming a double O agent. He is learning he trade as an agent and Craig plays it brilliantly.

The one thing that does get my goat with modern action films is the fast cutting/editing in fight scenes and chases so you cannot actually see what is happening that easily, too much 'in yer face'.

How can you not understand the plot?

It is very simple as explained above.

I didn't really understand where QoS was

Its in Dumfries

1. Head North on the M6 at Junction 44 the road changes to the A74(M).

2. Continue on the A74 for 6 miles until reaching the A75 turn off at Gretna, just past the "Welcome to Scotland", signs.

3. Turn left and proceed for 25 miles westerly towards Dumfries until reaching the A76 junction.

4. Turn left towards Town Centre onto Glasgow Road for 600 yards. Go straight across at the first roundabout at Homebase/Tesco(new store) then take right hand lane at the second roundabout.

5. Turn right onto Summerville Avenue and proceed past mini-roundabout at a derelict supermarket (Tesco old store) to a second mini-roundabout on Terregles Street.

6. Turn left onto Terregles Street for 400 yards and take first left.

7. Proceed for 100 yards to a T junction and turn left. Main Car Park is on your left hand side (parking is free).

i saw the film last night and liked it. seemed to have the old formula back. ok the car chase was short but overall i'd give it 8/10

The line aswell when they get in Haiti and take the taxi to the first hotel and then go to the Grand hotel where Bond says 'were teachers on sabatical and we've just won the lottery' was imo hillarious!

How did that bloke shoot himself twice in the head at the end?

I wondered that.
Did someone else turn up and kill him ? Otherwise, you're alone in the desert with a can of oil and a pistol. How DO you shoot yourself twice in the head ?

May have something to do with them writing off a brand new Aston Martin early on in the filming and nearly killing the driver.

I suspect the budget was reduced as a result thus shortening the sequence.

Don't know the technicalities but it could have been an automatic pistol or, as I think is more probable, his friends in Quantum decided he was no longer going to be one of their friends!

I thought it was better than all the shitty reviews that it got, but a lot worse than casino royale 4.5/10
