Mancgull,

Fair play to all of you who went but isn't 8 minutes of extra time
indicative of the time-wasting added time?

The ref didn't manage the blatant time wasting before extra time though which just adds to the frustration of the players and fans. In truth it was one of those games where you just felt that it wasn't going to be our night. Also, if I'm going to be pedantic, the 8 minutes was due to an incredibly long delay in taking the penalty due to the Blackburn players arguing and trying to put Lopez off, plus about a minute's blatant time wasting going into injury time when it took their keeper took a goal kick. Poetic justice that we scored when we did.

They were absolute rubbish and we were significantly worse. No one had anything approaching a reasonable game. Vicente, Barnes and Dicker means no pace at all. We passed them the ball more often than we passed to ourselves. El Abd wrestling rather than footballing. 1 shot before the penalty. Crap, really crap.

Other than that, a good night out then ! I see a poster on the Lancs Telegraph site reckons we were the third best seen at Ewood after Cardiff & Leicester !

Also just back to hotel, wonder if we are all in the same one!

Shoddy midfield performance tonight and we had no width.

Passes were going astray and every bobble went Blackburns way. The ref was one of those really f***ing annoying ones who kept stopping play and being pedantic about pointless things.

Tedious and in exciting tonight but it proves that football karma evens things out. Should have had 3 points on Sat and nothing tonight so 2 overall is prob about right.

Vicente looked off the pace, Kus made some great saves.

Damn cold and I slipped over on the ice.

Roll on Sat.

Just got home. Not only was it the worst away performance of the season but I missed the goal as I left after 94 mins so we didn't get locked in the car park. That will teach me.

Me too, just after we'd had that free kick in the far corner. I'd wrongly assumed that that would be our last attack and couldn't see us scoring if we'd played another 45 mins so ran back to the car. I'd passed the Reebok stadium by the time I heard that we'd drawn!

No idea what their pen was for. All I saw was a Blackburn player on the floor in the box before the ball had even been crossed in. It was given by the Lino, so he must have spotted something off the ball.

Poor tonight, too much play acting from our team too. El Abd had a shocker, Vicente at most was going through the motions, Spanish Andy anonymous, Barnes gobby, the rest, with the honourable exception of PIG, had games to forget.

fair enough mancgull.

Funny how a draw on Saturday and a lot of us felt doom and gloom;
a draw on Tuesday and we all feel top again! :)

(ready to get hammered by Arsenal)

We certainly didn't play well, and if we put more than three passes together all match, I missed it. As another poster pointed out, the penalty certainly boosted them, and in the second half Rovers did work their socks off to stop us playing, so credit to them. I do think we played far worse at Blackpool and gained a point there as well.
PIG was easily our MOM.

Exactly how it sounded on the radio - delighted to get a point from a bad performance, can't ask more than that, now we need to win from all our good performances!

But fans and players get frustrated by time wasting whatever the ref does. If the ref starts booking players, he stops the game, marks his card flashes it, then gets back into position to wave them to play on. He then gets moaned at for adding to the time wasted, accused of falling into their trap. If he just adds the time on it avoids that, and most of the time it's obvious he is. Whenever I see players time wasting I glance at the ref and most times he has looked or fidgeted with his watch. If more people noticed that, perhaps they would be a little less frustrated.

Also in hotel..

I am Liam Bridcutt's biggest fan. He is by far our best player. I love him. I have never seen him have a bad game.

He had a shocking second half.

I'm hoping he just did this to put Strachan (who was watching) off picking him for the Jocko's, and to shrug off any scouts wanting to nick him in the window.

He is probably my favourite Albion player currently.

And whilst he rarely has a bad game, he does have them on very few occasions where his passing game goes astray. West Ham last yr was.one I think. Good news is I can't remember him ever having two bad games in a row.

My observations from the night:

-TK made a fabulous save from a Rhodes header near the end and his handling was great all night. A big relief after his faux pas against Birmingham

-Everyone else was pretty awful, even Bridcutt started passing it to them.

-El Abd has had two very unconvincing games in a row, and however soft that penalty of theirs might have been (haven't seen any replay), he'd been all over their players at every set piece and had already been warned by the referee about it, so can have no complaints. Even in the second half, he was blatantly pulling Rhodes' shirt as he ran into the box: probably lucky that wasn't spotted either. He seems to be a liability at the moment.

-our penalty: all I can say is thanks to David Goodwillie for his utterly ridiculous challenge at the end, it's quite rare to see a professional footballer do something that stupid to cost his team a game.

-this isn't going to be popular but we are going to get a SHOCKING reputation for diving if we carry on like we have recently. Spanish Dave performed another Newcastle-esque triple rollover in the first half which had Blackburn fans fuming and us cringing, Vicente likewise made far more of a slight foul than was necessary, arousing their further ire, but the winner on the night was El Abd, who lost out to Rhodes in the centre circle then flung himself to the ground clutching his face for some unknown reason. He lay there holding it for a few seconds, before realising the game had carried on, and then leapt up, Lazarus-style, and sprinted back to his position as Blackburn poured forward. El Abd: that was utterly embarrassing. We have no right to mock the likes of Zaha if our players are going to start carrying on like this. Palace fans might accept their players doing it but I like to think I have higher standards than that- please, lads, PLEASE cut it out. It was awful to watch.

In short, we were dreadful and we absolutely mugged an admittedly average Blackburn side. I will happily take that point, with interest.

Agree with this sentiment. Hate simulation more than anything. Cantor and Aspinall started off on the radio by suggesting it was Blackburn who were perhaps being a bit heavy in the tackle, but soon changed their tune (guess after they saw replays), Warren in particular was then very critical of them. So frustrating to see it happening as it really gives off the wrong attitude to the whole team and shows they're just not up for a scrap when things aren't going our way. They all need a big dose of man-up juice.
