As much as you hope they would treat this as the most important game of the season, as with many other teams before, you can't help but suspect a few of them had an on eye on Saturday rather than being 100% focussed on the 90mins tonight. It does happen no matter how hard you try not to allow it.

Back from the game

A good point today. Ok, we didn't play well but we kept going to the end against a team who were boosted by a dodgy penalty decision giving them an undeserved half time lead, and a new manager who had them running around like lunatics closing us down in the 2nd half. On top of that, some blatant time wasting tactics which the referee didn't clamp down on.

PIG made an unbelievable save in the last 10 minutes which kept us in it. So credit to him for coming back after his mistake on Saturday.

In addition, when you get a last minute penalty, how reassuring to see Spanish Dave step up to take it. It was so confidently taken...never in doubt.

Good point, not a great performance but we move on, undefeated in 2013.

Finally, great effort from the Brighton fans that travelled from the South to support the team....a little easier for those of us that had the short trip up the M61

Just got home myself. We were particularly shit 2nd half, and Jordan Rhodes should have scored 3.

A few decent attacks in the first half, all of which seemed to involve Vicente in some way. Although he faded by the end of the half, which is understandable given his match fitness. We looked vulnerable to route 1 counter attacks all game.

I am Liam Bridcutt's biggest fan. He is by far our best player. I love him. I have never seen him have a bad game.

He had a shocking second half.

I'm hoping he just did this to put Strachan (who was watching) off picking him for the Jocko's, and to shrug off any scouts wanting to nick him in the window.

It did sound crap on BBC Sussex.. SOunds as if Vicente spent much of the time moping about not getting free kicks... or maybe he was just upset that Aspinall still doesnt get anybody's name right, including his (although I didnt hear so many "Vincente" s tonight).
Aspinall..... jeeeziz man, its "El Abd"! Its not that difficult to pronounce. At times I thought we'd signed a new foreign player called "Illab" and once "Balab"

Just got home. Not only was it the worst away performance of the season but I missed the goal as I left after 94 mins so we didn't get locked in the car park. That will teach me.
