Very dull first half. Nobody had a shot until the last 5 minutes (then 3 off target by Leicester) We dominated most of the half but CKR was ineffective and midfield gave the ball away too much. Second half - despite a good spell going forward in middle section, we rarely looked dangerous and survived a few scares at the other end. Hammond's miss after good approach play by Knight and Carole was one of the worst I have seen by Albion. Point just about a fair result, but we will think it was a game we could have gone on and won.
Ratings:
Henderson 7
Reid 7
McShane 8
Butters 7
Mayo 5
Oatway 7
Hammond 7
Carole 6
Jarrett 8
Knight 7

£22 not well spent.
Usual good, noisy turn out, but home fans didn't seem to expect much from their side - definite strugglers on this show.

Tch. Hammonds making a habit of these glaring misses lately, isn't he. Credit to the fella for getting into the positions, but he needs to get that ruthless streak back in front of goal. Thats a couple of points at least that we've missed out on as a result.

Still, these away points keep us ticking over, and its been a tough month, but we MUST start capitalising on the homes games.

Henderson only 7? From reading reports it seems he had a very good game?

just on way back dunno how u can say we bossed it in 1st half. we were the slightly the worse of 2 dreadful teams.we looked relegation fodder on that display. mayo, oatway and carole were awful.jarret, henderson, and hammond, butts and mcshane were great.we look really lightweight..we zip it around nicely but I'm not sure that's gonna cut it in the winter months.worrying

Henderson did play well.

Still can't work out how Hammond missed the header at the back post - seemed easier to score! I guess the good thing is that he's getting into position, and otherwise he had agood game.

Oatway looked a different class in midfield - i.e. an average player trying his best at a level above his capabilities. Likewise, Kerry was completely out of his depth when presented with the ball, although he defended pretty well. Both have had their time and we owe them big time - but they're out of place in our new pace & passing game.

Chatting to Foxes fans after the game, they were impressed at our turnout and noise. I must admit I thought we were thin on the ground with 5 mins to go but the corner filled nicely - perhaps 750?

Thought Hammond was the best player on the pitch. Shame he didn't top off a great performance with a goal.

Carole also should have played in CKR or Knight for a tap in when we had mpre men then them on the break but went for a weak shot himself...bad decision that could have given either of the other two a great chance.

Fairly equal first half performance until about the 40 minute mark when Leicester carved out three good chances and could have gone into the break in the lead.

Second half and the Albion came into the game more. Nice work from Carole and Reid on the right who cuts it back to Knight who had come off the defender. Hammond comes steaming in and looks good to score but shoots too close to the 'keeper. Then there was the miss to end all misses. Great floated cross from the right takes out the defence and the 'keeper. Hammond rises at the far post and the Albion faithful rejoice in a one nil lead. However the only thing in the back of the net is Hammond who is wondering how the hell the ball is not with him.

Generally good defensive play, but most teams will punish us if we gift possession again like that (especially guilty: Carole, Oatway and Mayo).

However we could have been playing against 10 men from about the 26th minute when Tiatto committed his second yellow card offence but the ref bottled it and gave him a talking to. Had it been any other player it would have been a yellow card.

A draw is probably fair but we could have nicked it quite easily.

I would agree with that report (apart from the fact that due to a nightmare journey up the motorways we missed the first 20 mins)

Henderson 8
Reid 7
McShane 8
Butters 7
Mayo 5
Oatway 6
Hammond 7
Carole 6
Jarrett 8
Knight 7

Didnt think we looked that bad but that final ball is the one .. Jarrett is going past defenders for fun but cant cross to save his life ..if that impoves he will be awesome ... cant believe how Hammond missed that sitter !

On a bright note was impressed with the numbers of away support ..looked about 1000 ...does anyone know right figure ?.

I likewise had the nightmare journey and missed the first 20 - Dosen't sound like I missed too much by the sound of things.

As for the ratings, quite why Jarrett gets an 8 is beyond me. Him, Oatway and Mayo were especially culpable of losing posession in dangerous areas and jarrett, for all his skill, rarely if ever played a killer ball last night preferring to try and take the whole team on. He must improve.

Onto the marks - quite how we didn't score I don't know. Leicester play a 'Zonal marking' system which the players were mightily confused by. As a result, when we got forward in numbers we had players unmarked and Leciester all at sea. Better teams than us will murder them if they defend like that.

Henderson 7.5 : Cracking save, which he knew little about. Deserves his place in the team
Reid 7 : Especially good going forward.
McShane 7 : Couple of very timely blocks.
Butters 7 : Needed his aerial presence when Dublin came on.
Mayo 5 : Our weak link, most attacking Leicester play came from this flank. Levein realised his lack of pace and put on a tricky winger, albeit too late, to make a difference.
Oatway : 6.5 Won a lot of ball, then lost a lot of ball. Typical Charlie. Deserves credit for protecting the defence.
Hammond : 5 : Deducted 2 for THAT dreadful miss. I was out my seat in the Leciester end, only to be ridiculed. I don't know how he missed. Deserves credit for getting there
Jarrett 4.5 : Lost too much ball, didn't track back. No Final product. All the good attacking work came from CKR, Knight and Carole. Didn't show twice for throw ins on his wing either.
Carole 7 : Attacking threat whose floated pinpoint cross should have won us the game. Deducted for not passing when we were 3 on 1 and weakly shot instead. Needs to track back when Reid bombs forward.
Knight 8 : MOM Constant threat. Looks like he enjoys playing in a more ball to feet environment this year.
CKR 7 : A welcome physical presence but needs to be braver in tha department. Did some good work but probably should have done better in front of goal a couple of times.
