Doyle initially went to Exeter for experience, yes, but mostly as cover for an injured striker who recovered much quicker than expected. If only we could have a few like that, eh?

Well, obviously not very closely. Championship loans mostly not great. Below that, Offiah runner up for POTS at Blackpool, Caylan Vickers pretty decent half season at Mansfield.

Well considering I’ve been to games of those sides specifically to watch them, yes I have.

Offiah like I said fine for Blackpool, but no future here, Caylan Vickers had a few decent appearances but absolutely nothing to suggest he will move up to the championship. Considering a few years ago we had the likes of Ben White and Steven Alzate who made a big impact. Doyle about the only success, and that was in the very back end of a doomed Crawley season.

I don’t have any agenda. Offiah is unlikely to make an impact on this team. Especially with the amount of right back options we have.

Probably the player, but IMO a lot of our domestic loans over the last season or two have been quite crap. Players often going to clubs where they get minimal game time or chaotic environments with very little consistency on manager.

Could that be because they turn out to be not very good?

I remember when were in L1 we used to get some real dross on loan from Prem/Championship clubs who only ever played a few games and then were shipped back.

Tasker might - repeat might - have suddenly moved ahead of him. Spend two years looking for a RB and then two come along at once ..... a bit of a bugger, innit?

Yes I think there is an element of that, but also some have been very badly organised moves (Cam Peupion to Cheltenham for example).

Well letting a talent go is ultimately fault of the club if he turns out to be very good. I think there will become a problem for a lot of academy talent where they struggle to see a route through a large first team squad, and I think it’s something that may lead to talent going elsewhere.

Isn't this a mixture of the bar going higher and the club wanting more instant success so they have bought in players that have 'proved it' rather than rely just on players with development potential. As soon as you buy in talent then your academy players careers stall as you can only play so many players play at one time.

but then look at Ayari who was not rated at Coventry or Blackburn in his loans.
