Totally random, but heard JAMC on the radio for the first time in yonks and looked up Youtube to see what was there. Ladeez & Gennelmen, THPP Productions presents possibly one of the GREATEST TUNES from one of the DAMN COOLEST BANDS of all time

'Never Understand' - Play LOUD!

1. You're too old to be using words like 'Innit'
2. JAMC had their day - 1987 and they were darn depressing then under April Skies.

But apart from that, fine? ???

Personally I'm loving (probably too old to use that turn of phrase also - oh well) the way they used to turn up, launch into a twenty minute killer feedbacked set then just walk off and cause refund-demanding riots wherever they went. Guess you had to be there, eh?

I was there Tom, had the haircut to boot and it was quality, although not the sort of thing you slap on at home in a hurry when you've got a double disc Neil Diamond Greatest Hits knocking around "Captain Sunshine...."

Always found Echo and the Bunnymen a bit fake, have to admit. a bit KNOWING and unconvincing. Scousers on the make and darlings of NME. My fault I'm sure.

definitely darlings of NME, you're right. Of the Scottish bands though, I guess that JAMC were a band that if you liked, you loved 'em. For me, Primal Scream had better stage presence, Alex Harvey had better tunes and the Proclaimers sound more scottish.

And I never, ever, ever liked Big Country or Simple Minds.

Aztec Camera and Altered Images were the perfect pop songsters. Oblivious is still one of my favouritest songs. And Clare Grogan

I saw The JAMC at brighton's Pav Theatre in 1985 -[ yep im that old!].
Bobby Gillespie flailing away on drums
They were bottled off stage after 20 mins.

got it on an old casstee somewhere......

In London village.
All image and no talent.

Utter bollocks. Saw them several times back in the 80's. The 30 minute acoustic set they did in Hammersmith in 1985ish is still one of the best gigs I've ever been to.
