Jesus and Mary Chain - Godlike Genius Band Innit

I was at the brighton pav gig too. I don't remember them getting bottled off stage though. They did did their usual 15/20 minute set and stormed off. A few plastic glasses were exchanged and the band's cronies tried to kick-it-off more but most people weren't interested in pandering to the 'JAMC in another riot shock' act and just nonchantly trundled off in that Brighton seen it all before kind of way. A disgruntled few wanted their money back but it was all pretty tame stuff, although terribly exciting at the time!! I also have the gig on cassetteeeee.

The other thing I remember from that show was the rank awful glam rock support.

They've recently reformed and play Brixton Academy next month.

Personally I'm loving (probably too old to use that turn of phrase also - oh well) the way they used to turn up, launch into a twenty minute killer feedbacked set then just walk off and cause refund-demanding riots wherever they went. Guess you had to be there, eh?
